Clean Kitchen and scrap storage pics!

I too am wondering about the binders.
Hey, very nice color on the countertops there. And I love your kitchen sink. I have on those stupid composite ones. Thought it would good for stains, well it is. It hangs right on the tomato ones. Ugh, a new sink is on my Christmas list.

That's the original sink from the 30's. Our house is a Sears Catalog House built in 1938. I love the house, I just wish it were bigger. 2 bedrooms and 1 bath, upstairs.

I'm still waitng for the pics to upload.
These are drawers from the tool dept at Target, they hold all my doodads, buttons, paper clips, etc

This is the top 1/2 of the California Closets modular pieces also from Target. My binders and sizzix.

What do you store in your binders??? I have a few lying around that maybe I can utilize... I love targets tool storage containers.. I have one... I love it.. I need to label it this weekend... along w/ the little one I have that just lays on the dryer and has ribbon in it (ribbon not on the spool)

These are my binders, I have 1 for rub ons, 1 for princesses, 1 for alphabets, 1 for each park etc...

these are the large pocket page protectors. All of the following are made by Avery bought at Staples. They have a little lip over the top kind of like the old style sandwich baggies. It helps to keep stuff in them.

these are 4x6 page protectors, usually used for photos. I put my medium size swap stuff in it.

these are baseball card sleeves, I use them for tags and other small stuff.

This is my current ribbon storage. They are wound on plastic floss bobbins which can be purchased at Walmart and Joanns. I'm not crazy about them but it works for now.

Let's not talk about the coffee table, OK?! :rotfl2:
Thanks for the detailed info on the binders.. I have so much of that stuff just lying around.. time to utilize it!!!

:rotfl2: Coffee table! Darn thing!!!

Okay, so what's for lunch?
I need to make something!

We had frozen pizza for lunch. We'll be having more frozen pizza for lunch tomorrow. I'm in the process of cleaning off my counters. If there is a horizontal surface in this house, it has something on it. I have this huge garbage full of papers/mag/junk mail already and I'm just getting started.

Thanks for inspiration to clean. My DH will thank you later too. Probably with a frozen pizza. :sunny:

Your guess is as good as mine. the boys are asking for food but we have nothing in the house. Not even bread but I don't want to drag the kids out either. HHMMMM???

Very nice Buffy! :thumbsup2 I love your binders! That is such a great idea! I'm going to steal that I think.

Wait, you have 2 bedrooms and 4 kids with one bathroom! :scared1:

yes ma'am.
we had a 3000 sq ft house, 4 bedrooms, family, kitchen, dining, living and a 30x32 bonus room. 2 & 1/2 baths. full basement 3 car garage. 2 acres. guess why we sold it.

we had 4 rooms that did nothing but hold furniture and we never used them, with 3 little boys it was too much house for me to take care of alone. DH travelled a lot and I couldn't keep up.
so now we have 1100 sq ft, 2 bedroom, 1 bath, living, dining, kitchen, full but damp basement, detached garage with a loft. the plus side is my mom and dad live next door so I have help. right after we bought this house DH lost his job because of 9/11 so it worked out for the best. we probably would have lost the other house having no money but we were here 3 months without a mortgage payment. between that and the proceeds from the old house we had enough money to live off of.

one good thing is we have a 16 x 20 space between the house and the garage so we will put in a master bedroom, master bath, and a small powder room. the bad part is we will have to go through the window in the nook, which currently houses my scrap stuff. so who knows where my stuff will go from there.

I'll try to take some pics tomorrow.

one thing about the page protectors is you can only put in 1 or 2 things because they tend to pop out. the page protectors are slippery.

oh and the binders are either 11/2" or 2". also from staples and i bought the page dividers from staples too.

p.s. sorry about using bad sentence structure and no caps, the baby is asleep on my shoulder so i'm typing 1 handed. :teeth:

I can't believe I spent a ton of money on one of those stupid (my word for the day) "special" binders that you have to buy their inserts to use. I have lots of binders just collecting dust. I am going to be doing some major re-organizing before the first of the year. Thank you so much for sharing.

PS-my kitchen has been de-cluttered also. My DH thanks you. :sunny:

I have a 5 bedroom house and one lonely ole bathroom for 7 of us!!!
Our top floor bedrooms are small but manageable.. Our master is downstairs..along w/ our stepsons' room... The other kids claim the upstairs.. why??? Because they can control the house!!! We have a living room, dining room/kitchen combo.. We keep remodeling but we have never added the extra bath! LOL
I also re organized my kitchen today.. cleaned off all the counters and the bar area (we have a breakfast bar that will seat 6 ppl).. I'll have to take pictures.. MY dh nearly fell over with the house cleaned and a list for Wally-world to declutter the scraproom... He said it was nice to hear my relaxation candle/waterfountain working!

I had tons of binders to organize my stickers and such but that didnt work out too well for me. I ended up buying the special binder system from Michaels that are 13 inches high so that I can put my borders and such in them. They work out great. I have 5 of them - Disney, baby/family, holidays/school, then two main ones with everything in them by category.

I do keep my alphabets in binders but since I got a Cricut for mothers day, I hardly use it.

I have my ribbon the same - on the spools but I have to agree it doesnt work all that great but it is OK. I use the same container for my buttons.

I have 3 bathrooms for two of us, maybe I could donate one of them to you Nancy!! Our house is very new, detached, built in 2002. It's a 3 bed, 3 bath (ensuite, guest and a downstairs toilet), living/dining and a kitchen. OH bought it before I met him but got the biggest he could afford so he wouldn't have to move again when he met someone and got around to having kids. Not enough room downstairs for a dedicated scrap space, I have a filing cabinet in the corner of the dining room with some small dets of drawers on top. Of course it's now encroaching elsewhere, there's stuff on the computer desk and a space between some cupboards in the living room holds plastic folders for stickers!

I'm inspired to get working in my room thanks to you all! I mean, I only have 1 1/2 months to get it in shape before the new swap season starts

I know what you mean. I keep looking at the calendar and see things I'm interested in. I'm like I already have this and that, if I could only find them.LOL I have 2 boxes full of stuff that needs to be sorted.
