Clay Aiken Fans, Eat Your Hearts Out

I am from the same part of the country that Clay is from, Raleigh, North Carolina, and tonight Clay will be singing the National Anthem at a Durham Bulls baseball game. I was able to get tickets for tonight and, if I don't have to work, I will get to go see him perform. It will be brief, but it will be fun. I have met him, in the mall, before he was selected as a wildcard, and you tell me why I did not get his autograph at that point, what a dummy I was. At any rate, I can tell you that he is just as nice in person as he seems to be on t.v.

Cross your fingers for me that I don't have to work. Chances are that I won't, but I can use all the pixie dust in that area you guys can send me.

He will also be on the local radio stations tomorrow morning and they are having a contest for people to be in the audience. I have put my name in, along with several other thousand, I am sure, but who knows, somebody has to win.

That is so cool! I have to say that Clay has really won me over in the past couple of weeks. He seems to be such a genuinely nice guy. Hope it all works out for you to see him! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

What fun and am I jealous. I grew up in Chapel Hill and used to love to go over and watch the Durham Bulls. Hope you get to go.

And, can you tell I'm rooting for our NC boy to take it all the way!

Well, if I had known...

We're leaving on a flight tomorrow morning from Tampa to Raleigh to visit the UNC-Chapel Hill campus with our DD (17). Doesn't he go to UNC? If so, maybe we'll bump into him!

Saturday, we drive to Charlotte to visit the UNC campus there, and fly home on Sunday.

I hope you get to go to the game. Clay WILL be the winner on AI!!!!

FOJMO. He actually goes to UNC-Charlotte. But, I don't think he will be there. ( I am guessing here, don't really know squat, as usual) I believe they let all the contestants go home this weekend for Mother's Day, and his Mom lives here in Raleigh. She actually works in the building right across the street from my husband's office.

Good louck on your campus scouting trip. I know it is an exciting but scary time getting ready to send your young one off to college.

I just called our DD and she is FREAKING! She said she can't believe she'll be in the same STATE, much less the same CITY as Clay!!! She's too funny!

I wonder what year he's in at UNC-Charlotte -- if she ends up going there, it won't be until 2004-2005 and he may have graduated by then. That is, IF he continues -- you never know what will happen with his success on AI.

Thanks for the info. I'm sure DD will be "on the lookout" all weekend to see if she spots him somewhere...

Yahooooo, I get to go. Not working tonight. Added bonus, hotdogs are just .50 at the ballgame tonight. What else can you ask for, Clay Aiken and a .50 hot dog.

probably gonna need binoculars to see him, but at least it will be in person.
