Classic Monsters Cafe

Hiya guys! Brand new to the forums, but not to the parks. I just saw on the Universal Orlando website that the Classic Monsters Cafe in Production Central is currently "closed." Now, I can't remember. Is the cafe seasonal? Only open during peak periods? I'm going to be at Universal Aug. 2 - 8. Will it be open then? It's my favorite restuarant in the park and every much as part of my UO trip as Jaws and Spider-Man!

Monsters Cafe has always been open regularly until they closed down for the refurb. I haven't been to the parks lately so I can't tell you if it's open again but hopefully it will be open again soon.

The Monsters Cafe will be open on a seasonal basis.

Its closed now and to close a restaurant for seasonal reasons is one of the dumbest things ive ever heard......Universal has way to many things either closed or cut down on show times...............

I went there in February or March (whenever the Pat Benatar concert was, I forget) and it was closed. It's still closed now so Spring and Summer must not be the right seasons

Its A must see in my eyes.Maybe it was not bringing in the money it cost to run it.I dont know.
Its like a icon to me.Remember eating there in the 90's!!

Yeah...I was over a couple of weeks ago and it was closed. I hope they are doing it up right. I can't imagine the place closed during HHN.

I was so disappointed that this place was closed when we were there a few weeks ago. I don't understand why Universal doesn't feature the classic monsters more. It's good to hear that Wolfman will be around soon though. Werewolves are cool.

We were at Universal last week and Monster's Cafe was open late Saturday for the Summer Concert Series. In the park maps It said Enjoy the summer BBQ menu at the Monster's Cafe. We ate there, I really enjoyed looking at all of the classic monster memorabilia. I am not sure what was on the menu regularly but they had bbq sandwiches with fries and coleslaw, cheese, pepperoni, and bbq chicken pizza and salads. It was pretty good. They had lots of bars set up in the front and side of this for the LL Cool J concert.

that is good news- was it open all day and late or just opened late due to the concert series??
