Little Mermaid is, as my friends and I were discussing the other night, "softcore porn".

I don't remember any "softcore porn" in the Little Mermaid. The other stuff I remember though.

Think that most movies mentioned are set on books, and fairytales, and Disney has made them more suitable for children (or Disneyfication) so yeah... THe real stories are much worse...

I remember on Spaceship Earth, that the statue in the renaissance period used to be topless. Now they've given it a top during the recent renovation... They used to have topless mermaids in Peter Pan's Flight as well. They looked really creepy So the Ariel mermaid isn't a coincidence!

Now i'm in the mood to see the scene in Fantasia with Chernabog to see how scary it is.

snow white scares the crap out of me.

i can't honestly think of a single disney movie that really has a positive message if you look at it very closely.

Snow White will probably always scare me...and usually it's not the witch even, it's Snow White running through the forest.

lol times have changed. They release something like that today and they'd get run into the ground with angry pareents.

Mermen were shirtless, with ripped muscles. Merwomen went around in shell bras. While natural for them, it was soft porn for the humans who were clothed at all times.

I don't think Little Mermaid was softcore porn? It was just shirtless guys and woman wearing bikini tops. Go to the beach, and that's what you'll see. Far from porn, IMO.

Oh and what I said about Sleeping Beauty... The well-known version is the whole kiss-wake up thing, but there are variants to it that aren't so nice.

Yeah, but, come on. It's not like they show anything. The only scene where she's not covered by water or that sheet thing is when they're underwater and it's really dark. It's not like in Fantasia where they actually show the ****s in daylight. I definitely wouldn't classify Little Mermaid as soft-core porn just because of one scene.

Well.... there is a 90's one a little scandalous.

I LOVE The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Frollo's song Hellfire is pretty much about how Esmerelda will be his, or she'll burn. It's like, major lusting. xD He smells her hair in one scene.

omg i love that song so much!! but yeah i was watching that and the whole time i was like "This is soooo sketchy......." lol but it's such a good song so it's ok, but yeah frollo is a creeper

You guys think too hard about these things... I just enjoy the movies for what they are.... But there is some messed up stuff.... not much, though. I see ne problems with the movies. Just MHO.

I still enjoy them. Although it was a little bit hard to get past the crows in Dumbo being stereotypical black people (of that time) with the leader's name being Jim Crow.
