Clarion Hotel - Maingate Kisssimmee?

Anyone have any experience here? I have friends going down in fall & they don't want to stay on-site, this one says it's 1.5 m from Disney, with Disney transportation, just wondering if it's a "safe" neighborhood & is this hotel decent?

I stayed here twice in 94 and 95 back when it was the Quality Inn Maingate. I can't say how the hotel is now but we found the location to be good, a very quick drive to Disney (under 10 minutes) and there was a Dennys next door and various other restaurants and shops close by.

Hopefully somebody can give you a more up to date review. Or you could check out reviews on tripadvisor.
