Clarification please

While figuring out what hotel to book, I've been trying to decide between Hilton bonnet creek, Art of Animation, or a moderate resort. Am I better off staying at a Disney resort because I will be able to make ADR Earlier? Is it 180 days for Bonnet creek and 180 (plus 10) for value and moderate resorts? Bonnet creek site says it has all the perks of a Disney resort... but I want to make sure.

From what I can see and what I know, they may have themselves set up to be similar to a Disney resort, but it is Not a Disney resort. I found this on **************** : " If you are staying onsite at a Disney resort you can book your reservations starting at that 180 day point, and you can make more reservations for up to 10 days after that (the 180+10 rule as it is called). Offsite guests have to make them one day at a time." You would be at an offsite staying at Bonnet Creek. Depending on when you are going, it may be worth it to stay at a Disney resort to use the 180 (plus 10) reservations as well as Fast Passes. At offsites, you can't reserve Fast Passes until 30 days whereas you can reserve them at 60 days if you are staying at an official Disney resort. Plus you will have access to all Disney modes of transportation and I believe Art of Animation and several other resorts are on the Skyliner path now as well, which should be opening up soonish.

Hilton Bonnet Creek currently has the same ADR perk (180+length of stay) and the same Fastpast perk (60+10) as the onsite Disney resorts. This is currently just a temporary perk that was extended to hotels in the Disney Springs area as well as a few other select hotels. These perks are currently scheduled to continue through the end of 2020. Guests at these included hotels may also attend Extra Magic Hours.

FP+ is the same as a WDW resort, 60 days. I am not sure about the +10 but truthfully at 180 you should be able to get almost any restaurant.

I recommend Hilton Bonnet Creek. You'll still get 60 day FP and EMH perks like onsite guests, and it's a more comfortable hotel than any value or moderate.

I mean do you really need 180+10 for your ADRs? I bet if you put it in on the touringplans finder you will get it.

What specifically are you trying to get and possibly ask over on the restaurant board. Based on 180 days you are looking at January/February for your stay?

We will have flexible dates for most (with my family) but plan on going on a cruise with my parents so will only have one day/night in the parks prior to cruise with them... so my heart is set on Artistry Point or something special with them.

Thanks everyone for your input!!!- I was thinking my parents may like bonnet creek lazy river but since this is a great opportunity to experience Disney with my kids and parents, I don't want to miss a Disney experience.

If it's only for one night, then 180+10 wouldn't help you anyway, as you would only book a meal 180 days out no matter where you are staying.

So true- I should have explained- We will be in Florida for about a week before they join us for the one night before the cruise.

The Hilton at Bonnet Creek is a wonderful place to stay. Not a ton of dining options that appeal towards kids if you have picky eaters, but Disney Springs isn't far at all. There are shuttles that will take you to Disney Springs and the theme parks, but they don't leave on a continuous basis like they do for on-property hotels. They also share with the Wyndam Bonnet Creek. The schedule for when they leave isn't posted until one week out---unless that has changed since this past fall. One downside is the shuttle busses park so much further away from the on property busses, which wasn't ideal at the end of the night. However, the Hilton feels so much fancier and nicer overall compared to most Disney hotels. The pool area is also really nice too. If you aren't planning on needing to go back and forth a ton to the parks, have older kids who can uber/lyft or have your own car---I would hands down stay at the Hilton Bonnet Creek again.
