Clarification on FP and Rider Swap

I want to make sure I am understanding the FP and Rider Swap situation.

For a family of four- two adults, 4 yr old and 2 yr old.

Dad and 4 yr old get FP to Soarin, Mom gets FP to Test Track. We use Rider Swap on both rides and Mom and Dad both ride with 4 yr old on both TT and Soarin (while the other waits with 2 yr old). Is that right?

Your 4 yo will need a FP for TT also. The Rider Swap will allow Mom and Dad to ride both Soarin' and TT (4 yo can ride twice)

We're doing the same thing too. Both my kiddos are too small for those rides, but I'm getting FP for soarin & my hubby for test track & using rider swap for both rides. If im understanding this right its almost like getting an extra FP, since Im assuming rider swap goes through the fastpass line. I've never used rider swap but I'm hoping that is how it works. I think I read somewhere that you can come back anytime that day to redeem your rider swap.

Actually, I think you have to get the FP for the younger daughter and switch their magic bands...otherwise you can't "double dip" TT and Soarin because of the tiered system.

Oh right... forgot about the tiering! Makes EP tougher to plan.

This is exactly right - not sure why the PPs are saying the 4 year old needs an extra fast pass. 4 year old doesn't need a FP for TT.

Mom rides test Track alone with FP and gets babyswap.

Later on,
mom and 4 year old ride Soarin with babyswap pass.
Dad and 4 year old ride TT with babyswap.

Everyone rides TT once. 4 year old rides Soarin twice.

2 year old doesn't get any FPs one way or the other, so she's irrelevant (except for being the person who can't ride the big rides, of course)

This is exactly what we did on our trip. 4 year old doesn't get to ride everything twice but you get around the tiering issue.

this is how we've seen it work. You will have to bring the 2 year old up to show you need the rider swap pass though.
