Clarification ?? about an old thread.

In a recent thread about OKW studios- 2 beds vs bed/sofa combo, Rich brought up the point that virtually all the studios were lock-offs that completed the 2 bdroom units. Rich thought there were maybe 5 or so dedicated studios. I was re-reading the "Member Questions" section of VM about the difference between lock-off and dedicated.The last sentence states the lock-off units are extremely limited at OKW. Is that a misprint ? I think even Doc supported Rich's comment about the limited number of dedicated studios.

I'm not aware of any dedicated Studio or 1BR villas at OKW.

Looks like VM had a typo if they said that lock-offs are limited. I think that about 1/2 of the 2BR's are dedicated and the other half are lock-offs. I've never seen any indication that there are ANY dedicated studios or 1BR's.

I seem to remember my guide telling me, 10 years ago, that there were or were going to be five dedicated studios. This was back when most of the buildings hadn't been built yet.

Maybe the plans changed, maybe he was mistaken, maybe I dreamed it.....I don't think there are any dedicated studios at OKW today.

I think the mix changed also, me second guide told me that the requests for studio reservations was higher than they anticipated and they were adjusting for that. I wonder if we can see if the percentage of lock-offs has changed between the first and second phases.

My last stay at OKW was a studio in building 25-26,somewhere in that section and I don't recall a lock-off door. I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure I'm not. No big deal either way.

I hope your guide wasn't misleading you on purpose. That would be dishonest and punishable by a jail sentence.

According the official documents where they list room types, there are no dedicated studios at OKW; thus if they exist it is truly a well-kept secret.

I'm of the same mind as KMWVICKING. We were in a dedicated studio on the third floor of a building near Turtle Pond. Sorry, I can't remember the number. If I find a map, I'll try to post.

I'm positive it wasn't a lock-off, because where the door would have been we stored DD's stroller.

Maybe they say the lockoff 2 bedrooms are limited because they first book them as studios/1bedrooms. If they held them for 2 bedrooms, it would be very difficult to get a studio or 1 bedroom since there are few/if any dedicated studios or 1 bedrooms. All 3 1 bedrooms we had at OKW were lockoffs.

I have stayed in a dedicated studio on the first floor of one of the new buildings - 62 or 63. Maybe they are just in the new buildings?

It's possible I'm hallucinating, but I also think I may have had a dedicated studio on the second floor of a building in this area.
