Clambake @Cape may?

Thanks guys, I'm going with a seafood lover this time around and was looking up seafood-centric places and stumbled on Cape May. Maybe it just seems like there's a lot of posts because it's on my mind, whereas last time I wasn't going so I didn't notice it as much?

We ate the Clambake over spring break. We found the meal to be expensive - although the food was good, the selection was rather limited for a buffet. (We had eaten at Lobster Feast on International Drive the night before - less expensive and more variety.)

We also were disappointed in the 18% gratuity that was added automatically to our bill since our party was "large" (8 people). Our waitress did not do anything to deserve that much of a tip - only brought drink refills once, and we served our own food.

Just my 2 cents - we will not be going back. :rolleyes1

Does anyone know if the crab legs are cooked in crab boil? Or are they just steamed with no seasoning?

When we went in January and the food was just ok. Actually everything was great except the crab legs. We found them very small, soggy and with no flavour. We LOVE crab legs but we won't go back to the Cape May Buffet, we were very disappointed :sad1:

I tend to agree. We had two wonderful breakfasts at CM but the clambake was a huge let down. The selection was limited, the service was poor, the crablegs were bad (every single one of them stuck to the shell) and that was after waiting an hour after our ADR time. So I think we'll be venturing off property and back to Lobster Feast for our seafood fix next trip.

How much does the price fluctuate? Is there just one flat increase for all peak/holiday times or is there a different price each season?

I could have sworn it was $30.99/adult (before tax+gratuity) during the first week of this past March...:confused3

In Jan or Feb (can't remember for sure), I booked Cape May for dinner for our May trip... at the time, I asked how much dinner was, and after several moments for the CM to look it up, I was told $30.99/adult. I don't know if it will still be true, or if that person could have had old information, but I'm just letting you know what I was told.
