Claires. What a joke.

Hi. Last night I went to a Claire"s store to get my ears peirced for my DD's wedding this Aug. They told me that I needed photo ID. Will not accept a Birth Certificate. I do not drive and cannot afford a passport at this time.
The joke- I AM 43 YEARS OLD.
I left and went to Merle Norman. No problem and it was allot cheaper.

I took my oldest DD to claire's to have her's done. She was 16 at the time. They asked her for her ID and she said she didn't have any they told her that she would need parental consent.....I was standing right there the entire time. My DD points at me and the clerk looks at me and says 'who are you'. Anyway, I signed the form and it was done.


I should just say that my DD looks EXACTLY like her dad and he is much darker skin tone than I am. I think I am Snow Whites long lost sister. Very often people don't believe that I'm her mother. When she was little I was asked, a few times, if I was babysitting

Why do you need photo ID to get your ears pierced?

Just curious if it hurt - I don't have my ears pierced.

Hi again. It just hurt for a second or so, I did have them done before but thought that they were grown in, so they used the same spot. They will do them both at the same time if you ask.
I thought that DH's friend looked like he was going to pass out, watching me get it done.

What a hoot! My (then) 6-year DD had her ears pierced at our local Claire's in the US and I had to sign a release form. The funny thing was, they didn't ask for *my* ID.

That is funny!!

I just re-opened my holes - haven't worn earrings since my wedding 18 years ago today. I was able to find the holes and re-open them no problem. And dh bought me Canadian Diamond studs set in white gold for mothers day/birthday/anniversary!

My friend and I were asked for ID at the casino in Niagara falls about 2 years ago. We were 37 at the time. When the security guard asked us we both said 'who me?' I would say that's winning big.

It reminds me of last weekend a group of my girlfriends and I decided to revisit a pub we used to go to for a laugh. When we got there the guy at the door asked for our I.D. We all burst out laughing we handed the guy our I.D and when he handed it back he was blushing. I told him even though I was old enough to be his Mother he had totally made our evening!!!!!!
