Our last day had arrived too quickly. We decided to pack instead of going for the hotel breakfast so we let the kids sleep in till 8 and we packed whilst they got washed and dressed. Then we made our way out of the room and checked out at 9am, we also booked a taxi to pick us up at 1pm as our flight was at 4.20.
We left the luggage in the left luggage room, which is across the driveway opposite the main entrance. The luggage is placed in an open locker, you then enter the locker number into a key pad and you select your own code number, enter that and close the door. The door is then locked but you can open and close it as many times as you want.
We caught the shuttle bus down to Disney village so that the girls could spend there money and so that we could buy some souvenirs. We also decided to get some breakfast whilst we were there.
We stopped at the New York Sandwich deli, where myself and my OH had an all day breakfast sandwich, that consisted of sausage, egg, bacon, lettuce, cucumber and tomato on toast, I had a hot chocolate which was divine and OH had a coffee. The kids all opted for a cookie and orange juice, they didnt want anything else. We all said we wish wed found this deli earlier in our stay as the food was delicious and reasonably priced.
Next stop was the Disney store where the kids brought princess badges, Minnie mouse ears, Minnie mouse hair slide (in pink for DD), DSDs brought a key-ring for there mom and DD brought a key-ring for her dad, I brought a key-ring for myself a 15th anniversary one. DD & DSD2 brought a Minnie mouse bag which consisted of a small Minnie mouse toy and two changes of outfits, DD1 brought a pink Minnie mouse hat with a veil attached. We also brought the girls t-shirts each, princess drinks cups with lids and straws that have a snow globe type figure and glitter attached to the bottom and I brought DD a belle figure set which included a jewellery box as it is her birthday 30th May and so kept on about it so thats a surprise for her.
We had planned to take a walk around the lake and hopefully see the hot air balloon in flight however it was raining quiet heavily and the girls were asking if they could play in scally wags at the hotel one last time so it was back on the shuttle bus so they could play for an hour. After which time we got our luggage and waited in reception for the taxi.
The taxi arrived early so we waved a fond farewell to the hotel and made our way to the airport.
This was when disaster struck because we forgot our camcorder and left it in the boot of the taxi. By the time we realised the taxi was long gone. As we were flying with British Airways there is a help desk near to the check in desk and a nice lady there telephoned the hotel for us to see if they could contact the taxi driver and ask him to return to the airport (our check in desk wasnt even open at this stage). The taxi driver confirmed that he had found our camcorder however he was too far away to return and was nearly back at the hotel, we did advise him that we would pay for his return trip however he had another fare to collect from the Explorer and that he would hand the camcorder into reception who would then post it to us when they received an email from us giving our postal address and a credit card number so that we could pay the postage.
As soon as we arrived home that evening I sent the requested email. However as we had not received confirmation of their receipt of our email my OH telephoned the hotel today and managed to speak to Marcel who spoke very good English and he confirmed that they had the camcorder and it would be posted to us in the next post.
All in all the trip was very enjoyable, the hotel was very clean, catered extremely well for all ages of children, the staff were all very pleasant and helpful, the rooms where spacious and a maid came very day of our stay and made the beds, tidied and changed the towels.
The Parks were fantastic, all the kids havent stopped talking about the trip since we got back. I think at the time it was a lot for them all to take in but it now sinking in and they were still buzzing deciding what was there favourite part of the trip etc.
We had been told there it was very expensive both in the parks and the hotels, however we came back with quiet a bit of money and we certainly hadnt scrimped. We all had what we wanted when we wanted so it was a very pleasant surprise to change the euros back to pounds and be left with just under £500.
The only down side we found was in shops .and it was basically the queue jumpers. These people were very arrogant and because it was the children paying with there own money they felt they had the right to jump in front of them. We had also told the children that they were to hold either mine or my OHs hand whilst we were walking around because of the crowds however some people would head straight for us so that we would have to lose hands with them and then have to stand looking for them as they often lost sight of us in the crowds, especially my 4yr old.
That said we are already thinking of our next trip, however we have been thinking of making it just the two of us next time because OH couldnt go on some of the rides he wanted to because the children where too little and he said it wasnt fair for us to stand around waiting for him if the queue was very long.
