Okay....10 days to go! Shall we plan a CKu-B DisMeet? DH and I will be spending Wednesday and Wed. night together at the Seaport, then I am on my own for CKU until he returns Saturday night.

How many are going again from here? Shall we try to gather for the crop on Thurs? Any thoughts?

Two peas is meeting for the celebrity crop and they created nametags....maybe we could do the same with a DIS theme. I would be willing to try to create something....

Thoughts?

ME, ME!!! I'm going. My flight is scheduled to arrive around 4pm on Wednesday, then I'll make my way to the Seaport. I've never met my roommate before and hopefully she'll be around when I get there so I can dump my stuff right away. So basically any time we want to meet is fine by me. I'm not doing the dorm thing this time around so no commitments for anything but fun and classes. I'm so excited!!!

I will be at CKU...but I am commuting and involved in a dorm! I will try to make a lime green mickey head tag to hang off of some of the others I am wearing!!! Oh thats it you will find me...I will be the one wearing all the TAGS...LOL

What dorm are you in Pauline? I want to make sure to cheer it on.

I decided not to join one this time. It was a lot of fun, but so much work. (It paid off since we won the song/cheer.) And I had to carry so much stuff with me that I just don't want to deal with all the way to Boston.

Love the idea of the Mickey head tag. Maybe we can all make ourselves one. I know I have several of the paintchips from Home Depot - even have a couple made into luggage tags for WDW trips. Yeah, maybe I'll use one of those.::yes::

:( So its sounding like dinner on Wednesday is out. OK, well, I am not going to CKU, but I can come in for dinner one of the nights, but I have a sneaky suspicion you all will be too busy to try and coordinate anything outside of CKU stuff.

HAVE A GREAT TIME! :bounce: It sounds like a ton of fun and completely worth it.

I'm up for a dinner on Wednesday. Once I get to the hotel I have no plans until registration on Thursday morning - not planning to go to any of the local stores cuz I have way too much stuff as it is. And I'd love to meet you castlegazer. If no one else wants to join us on Wednesday, we could always make it into a mini, mini, mini TAG meet. What do you say?

Welll...I am working Wednesday....but I could get into town by 7:30 or 8:00, if you you do not mind a LATER dinner I would love to meet you Robin and castlegazer also. How about seafood at the NONAME restaurant. It is a short walk from the Seaport and GREAT SEAFOOD. There is no atmoshere, but it is not expensive!!! Any other ideas????? I can meet you all in the lobby of the hotel.

I most likely will not join you ladies on Wed. Night. DH and I are taking this opportunity to have a mini-break. Wednesday we are playing Boston Tourists. DH then leaves Thursday am and will come back sometime Sat. night so we can play Boston tourists again on Sunday....trying our hardest to scrounge Sox tix for Wed. night or Sunday!

I will try to dig up a Home Depot Lime Green Mickey to identify myself.

Robin, I am also not in a dorm, so maybe we can team up and cheer Pauline on at the crops!! It will be fun to finally meet you after doing your trading pages a while back!

Trish

pauline I would love to say, yeah 8:00 dinner would be great, but I can't. I am newly prego, as is Robin too, and staying up that late at night is WAYYYY out of the question for me - I would be scared for myself driving home afterwards. I was zonked on the couch last night by 9 pm. I know, I know, LOSIER. I used to be cool, really I did.

I have to drive out to the Berkshires Friday night for a funeral so I guess if Thursday night doesn't work on the CKU schedule, this may be a bust for me - although, Robin, it may work for us to meet up - but I am worried that you are probably better off just grabbing something at the airport, or at the Seaport Hotel, and then getting settled at the hotel - with a 4 pm flight you won't be out of Logan before 5:30 or so. It may be a logistical nightmare to try and rush out then to have dinner with me.

I had no idea that BOTH of you were prego(or either one of you for that matter!) I may be able to rearrange my schedule...so let me know what will work best!

Castlegazer....Bershires...I am originally from the Bershires, Pittsfield to be exact, although I left there many many years ago(the only time I go back seems to be for Funerals also!!!)

Robin...I really hope that we can get together at some point, if not Wednesday then perhaps at one of the crops(I would rather socialize than crop at CKU! too much excitement!)

That long huh? I had no idea it would take an hour and a half to get my luggage and get to the hotel. I haven't been through the Boston airport in years, and usually try not to check any luggage, so I'm way out of the loop on getting out of airports to destination.

Yeah, I didn't even bother taking anything to the crops, except my camera. And on the night of the dorm judging I was busy with that and socializing. This time I may try to work on some class projects - maybe. But I'm sure I'll be doing more talking than cropping at the crops. :p

Castlegazer - we found another one who broke out of the Pitt!! LOL!!

Pauline, I am from Pittsfield too! We probably have mutual friends, relatives, who knows what else!

Pauline too funny - yup PoohBear1029 and I are from Pittsfield too. In fact we were really close friends in 4th grade and hadn't seen each other since - due to me being a loser and changing schools - and we met up here on the DIS. Totally small world. We're both 33 years old - sorry to reveal that Poohbear! So that should give you a clue if we know any of the same people, although I went away to boarding school for highschool but she didn't. I worked in Pittsfield up until about 5 years ago.

Robin, I hope I am wrong, does anyone else have a good estimate on how long it will take to get her out of that pit of an airport?

Castlegazer.....not to nitpick, but I am holding on to this as long as I can....I'm 32 until October! :teeth:

I am much older than both of you. Perhaps I know your parents?(ok...not that much older but close!!!) I went to Taconic High School(the poor side of town). I left to go to College and have not looked back.....although I do wish I could have some of my childhood photos to scrap(my evil sister has possesion of those) LOL!!!

Yah, okay, that is not the poor side of town!! I know plenty of people on that side who have no trouble making ends meet! ::yes::

If you are "not much older", you probably know some of my cousins. I am from a large family, although they dont all carry my maiden name. I too left for college and basically didnt look back! Sometimes I forget how to get places, it is so bad!

Yeah, better be careful slingin those poor side of town words around - I went to private schools and all my friends lived over there on that "poor" side of town in what I still would deem mansions. I grew up hanging out on Onota Lake with my pals who lived on Blythewood Dr. and on Tor Ct. Most of my high school friends from "backhome" - I went to boarding school - went to Taconic. In fact I dated a guy from Taconic for most of high school. I was a great date in that a guy could date me and not have to worry about running into me in the halls of school so he could run a second life if he wanted and the guy I dated was pretty good at being a schmuck like that.

PoohBear and I both lived over on the East side on and off of Williams Street.

You definately are not a peer with my parents. They are in their seventies. BUT, to reach and hopefully I am not overreaching you are probably near my sister's age - we are celebrating her 50th birthday next weekend. She went to PHS.

I am still pretty active in Pittsfield stuff. I worked in the city for quite a few years so I remain connected as much as I can, plus we own some buildings on North Street so we are vested in what happens to the city. I am a supporter of one of my friends efforts to bring some life back downtown through artists - her name is Maggie Mailer and her work has been covered on NPR, she is Norman Mailer's daughter, and she is trying to do a Storefront Artists project and fill all the vacant storefronts with activity. It is actually pretty successful and things are looking much better downtown.

I have no idea why I just spilled all this out - But just wanted you to know that its a small small world.

I only said the poor side of town, because I remember the rift it caused when the school first opened...LOL I grew up on Seymour Street (near the old hot dog ranch and VFW) ..I also hung out at Onota Lake and I am a couple years younger than your Sister. LOL

Small world indeed....my sister still lives in the Pitt(on Second Street ) she is annoyed with me for leaving.

Hope we get to meet sometime soon...I actually live in Boston...not far from the Seaport and LOVE IT.
