CityWalk - Which restaurants are "must do's"

Margaritaville was great fun last trip... I would absolutely go again.

Margaritaville is one of our families favorites and we have 3 boys. The food is good and the margarita's are the best. It is a very fun atmostphere. I personally did not overly enjoy NBA and Emeril's.

We go to Universal every other year & always have 1 meal at Latin Quarters. Yummy!

Everyone has there fav. but honestly I have not had a "bad" meal at any of the city walk restaurants.
I dont think you will be disappointed no matter what you pick.

Try checking out the "food porn" thread and looking for universal food that might help you pick.

We've never had a bad meal at Hard Rock plus I think teenagers would enjoy the decor and the atmosphere.

We're looking forward to trying Bubba Gumps for the first time on our next trip.

Here's a little something that makes the Hard Rock extra cool. Don't know if it's a big secret or not, but I certainly never see it advertised. It was a highlight of our trip. Ask your server whether anyone has time to give you a tour of the Lennon Room. They have a very neat collection of Beatles memorabelia in a separate area. We got a private tour just because DS got to talking to the right person about guitars. But really, all you have to do is ask. We toured while waiting for our food.

Talkig about CW only,the best meal I ever ate was at Latin Quarter.

On our trip, this past October, we tried eating there on the only night we had available (Wednesday), but the top part of Citywalk was closed for a private party. The other nights, I was busy with HHN (Thursday and Friday) and the RPR Luau (Saturday).

My first trip to universal is in August. Do you need reservations to most of these restaurants for dinner?

If you're staying on property, just show your room key to get priority seating.

If you're not staying on property, but arriving early to visit one of the parks, stop by a dining kiosk located near the Citywalk entrance when you arrive, and request a reservation at that time. Although the restaurants can be busy, especially on weekends, most guests are walk-up guests and a reservation made that morning should suffice.

Ok so you are saying a reservation is redundant if you have an onsite room key, even during peak times? That's good to know, if so I won't bother stopping by the kiosk.

We always eat at Margaritaville and love it! I'm a Parrothead, so going there isn't an option when are in Florida!

Thinking I may have to try Margarittaville in City Walk we have one by our lake house and it was just aweful so we have always avoided going back..perhaps we have to give it one more go. thanks for the great ideas on where to eat.

I've never had a problem but then I've only stayed on property during slow seasons. I have seen posts from some people mentioning that their room key wouldn't work on the weekends during peak times.

Each on-site hotel has a concierge desk that can also help make dinner seatings.

Also, it's common for a Citywalk restaurant to be closed for a private party. Last October, on a Wednesday, all the restaurants on the upper level were closed for a private party. I was pretty disappointed in that as I had planned to dine at The Latin Quater that night, which was the only night possible as I was doing other stuff for the remaining nights.
