I am looking at reserving a double stroller.... I'm looking at the city mini and a city mini GT.

I can't find too many differences of the two so if anyone has experience could let me know which one is better and why.

I will have a 5 year old and 1 year old riding in them. Roughly 70 lbs.
Thanks!

The baby jogger website has all the details in a comparison. The main differences will be the tires, the size, and the weight limit.

How much does your 5 yr old weigh and how tall are they? I have a 4 year old who is almost 42 inches and 38 pounds. For our next trip I am getting the GT. From what I have been told, she'll be more comfy and it will be easier to push.

The GT also has an adjustable handle if you and your DH are dramatically different height. We bought the GT because it was just a nicer stroller all around.

I forgot to mention that it only cost me an extra $2 a day to rent the GT instead of the regular City Mini. It was certainly worth it.

I own a regular City Mini Double. I pushed the GT in the store and thought it was too heavy. It depends on your circumstance, but I frequently take my 5 children to the parks by myself, and a GT would be too much for me to handle. It pushes fine, but having to carry it folded while wearing my baby in a sling and holding a 2 year old's hand as he boarded the steps to the bus would have been a challenge.

The extra weight of the GT isn't a big deal if you have one person who can hold the 1 year old and one person who can carry the stroller, but if one person has a back problem and can't do either, or if you'll be on your own at some point, or some other unique circumstance, you may want to consider not getting the GT.
