City mini or the city elite?

Ok, we contemplating getting a stroller for Disney. I see some sites offer the city mini to rent at Disney.


Wondering what people think about the baby jogger city mini. Can it handle all the rough terrain, bumpy paths at AK, the boardwalk planks over at the BWI? We stay at the boardwalk so worry about little buddy sleeping and then the walk back to the BW, with the wooden planks waking him up?

I worry that the baby jogger city elite will be too big to get around in the stores and such? or just such a hassle to use on the buses.

We would also use the stroller when we go to fairs and festivals, where you are on grass, sometimes not flat, mulched areas and sometimes a little hilly. This is the part I'm not sure the city mini will perform, but the city elite will do awesome.

We have a smaller every day stroller I use when we are out and about, but i don't think would be comfortable for a long Disney day.

I'm hoping to find a gently used one on craigslist.

We rented a double City Mini from Orlando Strollers for our last trip, and we are planning on renting one again for this trip. I told DH that if I ever needed a new stroller, I would buy a City Mini!! My kids are now 4 & 6. DS (6 yo) really does not need a stroller these days, but we will rent a double in case he needs a break. And it is nice to have the extra space for "stuff"!!

We did not have any issued using the City Mini at any of the parks, DTD, around the resorts, etc. I think it would work just fine in any of the places you mentioned. As I mentioned, I would buy one if I need another stroller. I don't see that in our future - only because the kids are pretty much done with strollers!!

We have the city classic (which is now called the Elite) we used it on Disney trips for about 4 years. It was awesome, totally fit in any stores, busses, etc without any problems. Still lightweight enough that I was able to manage it on busses and trams when I traveled alone with my dd.

We chose the classic/elite because we were purchasing it when my dd was already a toddler & wanted it to have a higher weight capacity and bit roomier seat.

Both are amazing strollers and by far our favorite brand/model.

We're getting the Elite because I like the wheels better plus the handles are adjustable (DH is a foot and a half taller than me!). It feels much sturdier. The mini is lighter though by about 6 or 7 lbs which is nice.

I think the new models come out around Sept. You'll probably see "pre-orders" coming out soon and then the 2011s will start going on sale.

It's not listed online, but if you call, they will discount them 15% over the phone. It's by far the best deal I found. I just ordered the purple City Mini. It's my 2nd City Mini and I them. Taken it (and a double CM) to Disney several times with no problems at all.

We also take our City Mini to the beach and it does OK in the sand. You can lock the front wheel to make it easier to manuever on loose ground.

I have ordered all of my car seats, strollers and baby gear from them over the past 7 years and their prices and customer service are awesome.

thanks for all these tips about where to buy, and the month they tend to come out with the new version. This will help since we don't goto disney until Nov. So, the wait is on until the new ones come out. Do they tend to get marked down before the new ones come out, or when the new ones are out.

The City Mini 2011 model underwent a few changes, so it's unlikely that the 2012 model will be much different. Just speculating though....

I have the City Mini, but I've never seen/used the Elite. I really like ours. The easy fold up is the best part, and it's fairly light. We also have a BOB stroller that we use for outdoor festivals where the ground is rough. We've used the City Mini for these same functions though, and it does perform okay. If I could only have one stroller, I'd have a hard time choosing between the two.

I bought my City Mini on Amazon. With free shipping and no tax, they had the best price at the time.

I have a city mini double which I love for the lightness of a double and the quick fold. I bought my 2010 model at Albeebaby in May of this year for 25% off. I don't know how long before that they were closing out last years model but maybe that will help on when they close out the 2011. I know I didn't start seeing the 2011 models in store until May either so I am not sure they will come out with the 2012 model until its 2012?

Another big fan of the Citi Mini here and albeebaby as well. Easy to fold and turns on a dime. Had a lady with a front to back double stroller who was struggling to turn the thing in a store tell me how much she disliked the side by side because they were hard to maneuver in a store. I was zipping around the store turning my citi mini with one hand and laughing.
