I asked DS's teacher what she would like us to bring back from Florida for her, as she has been SO nice about DS missing school for the trip. She wants a "lemon or orange starter tree in a little pot" that she says she saw in a gift shop before.

Any idea where I might find one of these? And if I do find one, can I bring it on the plane?

She has been so wonderful that I really hate to not be able to find her only request (she even offered to pay for it if I could get her one). She isn't even giving him any homework...NONE! :teeth: She told him to enjoy the trip and that he can just make up whatever absolutely has to be done when he gets back!

You can get them in epcot in the land where the huge food court is. They have a little garden and gift area in the building, and I've seen them sold there before.

tricia.

Thank you SO much! That will be simple to get, then. I was worried I might have to drive all over Orlando looking for a tree...LOL

Anyone have any idea about getting it home?

I'd ask them about shipping it direct from the store. That would seem to be the easiest solution.

I've also seen them at the gift shop at CBR, both orange and palm trees. I bought three at the airport (Ft Lauderdale, not Orlando) to bring back at Christmas time for family. I brought them on the plane as a carryon in the shopping bag they came with. I didn't have any other carry on's so it might depend on how much stuff you like to have with you already. I put them under the seat and they made it fine without being crushed.

Thank you! I knew you guys would have answers for me here on the DIS!

I'll inquire about shipping them back, but I'm a little concerned that they may not survive the cold weather we're having right now. Especially if they made it home before I did!

We bring very little carry-on baggage, so that may be our best option, I was just unsure of how that would work out. Since you had no problems aynt79, I now know it's "do-able!" :teeth:
