Citrus Swirl at Sunshine Tree Terrace

My DH just reported to me that the citrus swirl is now orange sherbert (rather than frozen orange juice) swirled with vanilla soft serve. Is that true? I have been getting the citrus swirl (formerly called the Florida Citrus Swirl in the 1980's) since 1985 and I like the orange juice version!!!!

I have been hearing about the new orange-sherbet type soft-serve at Aloha Isle, but not that they had changed the wonderful oj swirl at Sunshine Tree too... I hope it's not true!

Oh darn!!! I am a big fan of the original citrus swirl AND the Dole Whip. We are on the QSDP and hoped to use several snack credits on these wonderful treats but if they changed the recipe..... So any of you remember the strawberry swirl that they used to have at The Enchanted Grove. Oh those were the days.......

Sadly it is true. I had the new version in Sept. It isn't bad , but no way near aas good as the original and definitely not the same. They also got rid of the Strawberry swirls awhile back.

The OJ ones have been gone for quite awhile. It's been the sherbert swirl for my trips since 2006.

It really floored me last month when they moved the citrus swirl from Sunshine Tree Terrace to Aloha Isle. I went to STT all ready to order and was really disappointed it wasn't on the menu. I decided to have a Dole Whip as a consolation prize, and low and behold, there were the citrus swirls!

I do miss the ones with the orange juice, but I have to admit, I don't get a "cold" headache as fast with the sherbet ones. I also miss the strawberry ones.

Are you guys talking about a orange sherbert swirl, does it taste like the orange sherbert pops with the cream in the middle? Can you refresh my memory as to where the Sunshine Tree Terrace is ?
I already know where the Aloha Isle is by the treehouses right?

NO WAY! Has it been that long since I have had one??!! I could of sworn I had one in 2007 while I waited for DH and DD to finish riding the Aladdin ride.

We had the orange swirl at Aloha Isle. I never had the one with OJ so I have no frame of reference, but it was SO yummy!! Really hit the spot.

I'm so jealous!! I don't know how I lived without them for so long and can't wait to get another!! We didn't discover them until we were on our way out of the park the last day Won't be letting that happen again!!

Last weekend we were with friends who were newbies to the Dole Whip world.
The counter service by the Tiki room was selling regular foods. I did not look to see what ice cream treats they had, or even if they sold any.
The Dole Whip place in Adventureland had an option for a citrus swirl. (We had one a year or so ago and were not impressed. So never really paid attention to it since.)
Friends LOVED the pineapple float.
