Citrus County

We decided we wanted to see another area of FL besides just the Orlando area. So a few days before we check into WDW we are going to got to Citrus County. Our main purpose is to see the Homosassa Wildlife Park. When we visit new areas we like to find quirky and fun local attractions, the kind that are a bit off the beaten track. Anyone have any recommendations?
