If I spelled it wrong, I'm sorry...

Any reviews? My sister wants to eat there... I want to eat at the California Grill (I have to admit, Citricos is a wee bit cheaper).

My DH and I ate here last year. It was one of our favorite meals! I had the paprika pork tenderloin and an appetizer of quail with polenta - outstanding!! I don't remember what my DH had, but he loved it whatever it was! Surprisingly, the restaurant was empty except for 3-4 other families/couples. The chef was experimenting with different appetizers (maybe he was bored?) and brought out some complimentary ones for us to try. I would highly recommend this place! Hope this helps. Any others?

Hi,

Mom & I loved it!! We didn't have many people in the dining room with us so it was quiet & the service was great! Food was EXCELLENT!!! Would go again!!

Citricos is one of my favorite restaurants. Cost wise, I've found it on par with the California Grill.

I've eaten here twice and each meal has been different. The first time I had a mussel and polenta "fries" appetizer, the veal shank and a frozen citrus pate for dessert. The veal was huge and very filling. It's a standard item on their menu.

The second meal I had an onion tart appetizer, lamb with white beans and greens and triple sorbets for dessert. The onion tart was excellent as were the sorbets.

Wine selections are excellent and the bartenders mix great drinks.

Here is the Citricos portion from my complete dining reviews which can be found here:

Saturday November 29th
Anniversary Celebration Dinner at Citrico’s at The Grand Floridian
Atmosphere: B+/A-
Service: A+
Food: A
Total with tax and tip: $222.51
Disney really knows how to make you feel special. We drove up to the entry guard to check in and he wished us happy anniversary. It was so sweet and DH was very surprised! We used the valet parking and made our “Grand” entrance. Another OH WOW! The Christmas decorations were to die for. My husband and I decided we would love to stay here. It’s very romantic and beautiful. We had a look around and took some photos like good little tourists then checked in at Citrico’s. We were on time and were seated right away. We were presented with menus that were personalized “Happy Anniversary Mr. And Mrs. Ruscoe!!!” I nearly died and cried. Our waiter was just about perfect with his timing and the meal was flawless. We started with appetizers, a warm onion tart for me and a crab and corn cake for DH. Succulent! Then we both had the lobster bisque. Heavenly! And for the main course I had the rib eye with olive oil mashed potatoes and DH had the braised veal shank with garlic mashed. Amazing! We had the wine pairings with the whole meal and it was a big hit. For dessert I had the tropical crème brulee and DH had the press pot coffee. He declared the coffee very good and I couldn’t talk with my mouth full of silky, sexy custard! I gave the atmosphere points off as the restaurant started off very subdued and hushed even though it was quite full but as the dinner wore on it got so very noisy and full of children. Citrico’s isn’t cheap, mind you, but it was a special occasion and worth every cent!

Oh how I wish I could dine there just now!

Well--both are fine restaurants. I prefer California grill when food AND atmosphere (that view!!) are concerned.
But for pure "fine dining", I think Citricos wins.
I can recommend the Paprika and Honey Pork Tenderloin and also the Braised Veal Shank, which is the house specialty.

LOL All you have finer tastes than I do. I'm not from a family that eats foods like, lamb, duck, veal, etc. So I probably will stick to something more cliched (chicken maybe), but who knows.

Another question: Does the bill include tax and tip?

No, tax is added to the total cost and the tip is at your discretion. We tipped a little higher than the customary 20% as the service was impeccable!

You'll be on holiday, live a little. With all the wonderful offerings, it would be a shame to be "safe" and order chicken. The veal shank was positively succulent and I was coveting DH's dinner all night, even though my steak was about as flavorful as you can get!

I dream of the onion tart!

LoL! You make it sound bad. I'm not much of a meat eater. (Trust me, I had steak one night and I almost vomitted all over the place, I won't get into details why.) Does Citricos have pasta dishes?

Check out the -

recent Citricos menu

I'd say if you aren't much of a meat eater, don't like Meditteranean style foods and would rather have pasta then Citricos may not be the best place for you. It's not enjoyable to pay big $$$$$$$ for a meal you can't stand, even if your Sister wants to eat there.

Go to Alfredo's (Epcot), Tony's (MK), Mama Melrose's (MGM) or Portobello Yacht Club (PI) instead.

But uncleromulus...what is the beer like??

At the california grill can you have various courses as your meal as you can at v&a and citricos or is it mainly 3 courses.
Can you wear wedding attire in the resturant and what are the views like from the resturant, can you see the castle at magic kingdom?
Also can you get a monorail from GF To Comtempory resort even when the parks close?

D-R:
Not much to cheer about at either spot. Citrico's most adventurous is Fischers Labelle (of which I'm not a big fan). California Grill has (or had) Anchor Steam.
So beer-wise, California Grill is the winner (such as it is).

We just had dinner at Citricos last week. There were four adults, and we each ordered a different meal. ALL of us were disappointed. The flavor was bland and the server indifferent. We had 9 great meals at other restaurants and 1 lousy meal there...it was the most costly meal too. Sandie
