Citrico's or Narcoossee's

Tell me the difference in atmosphere, food, price.....
We want to eat at one of these and am not sure which to try. I do not eat seafood but my DH loves it. I love a really good filet or chicken dish though. We like desserts and usually share an appetizer, not seafood, of course.
Is one "fancier" than the other. What about views?

Apples to oranges.

Citrico's is gracious, romantic, adult oriented, with refined service. The menu is excellent with a wide variety of choices. The inspired cuisine is presented in a thoughtful manner. There are a very few tables with a limited view of the fireworks. This is arguably the best restaurant at WDW.

Narcooses has a wonderful view of the fireworks which is often blocked by people standing on the deck outside. We've dined there half a dozen times and have had service that ranged from OK to poor. The food is good, when you finally get served. (Waiting an hour after when I was seated for my entree when I didn't order an appetizer is just wrong!) The atmosphere is loud, and you'll find a lot of families there.

ditto to what Anne said.

I like both restaurants, but Citrico's is the hands down better restaurant. It won't be a cheap meal, but it'll be one of the best you'll have WDW, if not *the* best. Service is excellent and knowledgable. The menu is well balanced, quality of food and wine list is excellent.
Narcoosee's is an upscale seafood restaurant. We've not had a problem with service but it doesn't compare to Citrico's.
I wouldn't go out of my way to return to Narcoosee's anytime soon, but would welcome the chance to visit Citrico's on any trip.

We're doing Citricos as part of our MYW dining plan. It will be our big night out. I'm happy to read such great reviews.

Am in agreement with what's already been said, but would also add that we've never had any service issues at Narcoosee's. Narcoosee's is perhaps a victim (or beneficiary?) of it's location and view, which prompts more than a few people to eat there as much for the fireworks as for the food. That pretty much explains why there are more kids there than at Citricos. And what with a wood floor and poor accoustics, it is "more loud" than Citricos.

and I would vote Narcoosee's hands down. I would say the prices are about the same really. Narcoosee's has dishes other than seafood, although it's their specialty. Their steak is fabulous, the desserts are wonderful. The views are magnificent.

We ate at Citrico's once - and although it's a lovely place with a nice atmosphere, we were totally disappointed. We were so looking forward to it. My husband ordered lamb and it was overcooked. My steak was overcooked...twice. I wasn't impressed with the flavor...or the service. It just wasn't a good experience for us. The atmosphere is more "light" and airy than Narcoosee's. Narcoosee's seems a bit more formal. I really liked the Citricos atmosphere a bit better, but in the end the food is what makes the restaurant and Narcoosee's far surpassed what we got at Citricos. So did the service.

Same here!!!!!!!!!!!! So psyched now!!!!!!!!!!!

Another vote for Citricos - Great place with and without kids. We have eaten there three times now with our children and one of those times was with a co-worker of my husband who happend to be there along with her son, grandson, etc. There was a total of 11 of us, 3 were children and all well behaved

Great service, great food and the servers even had a lot of fun with the kids.

My husband is a chef and my kids are used to more grown up food (they are 10 & 8), even though the kids menu here is very good and they will make half orders of some things on the adult menu if the kids want to order from it

We have eaten at Narcoossees and the food was good but we also had problems with the server, where we had to wait for a lot of things longer then we should have or ask for drinks to be refilled, etc. Not to say we won't give it another try but we prefer Citricos

We ate at Citrico's for the first time a few weeks ago and it was a fantastic meal. The servers were great and the food was excellent. That said, we ate at Narcoossee's for the first time last year and it was outstanding as well. I really don't think you could go wrong with either.

Have you ever tried Flying Fish Cafe?? That is our favorite restaurant at Walt Disney World!!

Have a super time with whichever you pick!! :)

I completely agree with Anne's comments. Citrico's is my favorite restaurant at WDW. And lately, the staff at California Grill should visit Citrico's to see how it should be done.

Lisa,
I was saving this for our December trip when my Mum offered to babysit our toddler. I didn't know Citricos was child friendly. Would you take a well behaved toddler or wait for a romantic dinner for two?
Thanks!

WE ate at Citrico's for the first time last week and it was really wonderful. We were there for over 2 hrs. just relaxing and having a good time. Then we walked back to the Poly and watched Wishes from the beach. I will go there again.

I might have been there on an off night because I had the opposite experience of many other posters. There was a high ratio of kids to adults, it was loud (mostly because of drunk adults) and the service was horrible because our waiter disappeared halfway through our meal. We might try it again someday ... but for the price, I'm going to stick with Jiko.

bunnyfoo, at which restaurant were you dining? I'm guessing Citricos since so many replies were about it but just wondering?

lomillerin, since your husband enjoys seafood so much I would pick Narcoossee's. It is their specialty. I had a wonderful filet there last summer as well.

We've dined at both many times. Both have very good food and usually very good service. We've had a miss in service at each but that can happen anywhere. Usually service is Disney quality at both.

Narcoossee's enjoys a beautiful setting on Seven Seas Lagoon. You don't have to dine there during Wishes. We enjoy going on the early side. It is usually not noisy then as the bar isn't full and the crowds aren't arriving for Wishes. Watching the water sparkle in the sunlight or the lights of the Polynesian, CR and MK twinkle across the water (depending on the time of year) enhance dinner for me.

Citricos is wonderful too and if the menu appeals more to you, go for that.

Just made PSs for both today and was told for both "Business Casual.....prefer collared shirt, no tanks, no swimwear."

D'oh :) That's what I get for posting at work ... I kept opening and closing the window so many times, I just assumed that I put in Citricos :rotfl:

Yeah, I didn't have a good time there. I was surprised since I had read so many good reviews. Oh well ... I think that was one of my only bad dining experiences at Disney so I guess I'm lucky.

That's a pretty good suggestion for a seafood eater and a non-seafood eater. Their NY strip is one of the best steaks I've ever had, and naturally their seafood dishes are wonderful. They also have a pasta dish and at least one other non-seafood entree. Their chocolate souffle for dessert is to die for!

We were thinking about going to either Narcoossee's or Citricos as our "new place" this trip, so it's great to read these reviews!

Citrico's! We dined at Citrico's 2 years as our special evening out while the kids played at the Peter Pan Club. It was wonderful meal and we loved the atmosphere. We already has PS to do the same gig next month.
