My husband and I are trying to decide between Citrico's or Flying Fish for dinner one evening during our anniversay trip in October. We already have reservations at Yachtsman Steakhouse, San Angel Inn, Narcoossees, Hollywood Brown Derby, Les Chefs de France and Le Celier. We have not been to either restaurant but the reviews look better for Citrico's...however the menu at Flying Fish seems more appealing to us. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Citricos is a quiet winner IMO - it is consistently great for us and always very pleasant - the service has been excellent and it isn't as loud or crowded as Flying Fish or even California Grill (which we also love). My recent experience with Flying Fish was terrible (3 weeks ago) - so much so that I've already canceled an ADR I had there for our August trip.

What didn't you like about Flying Fish? We have an ADR there coming up because the reviews are very good and we love seafood.

We also loved Citricos, very nice and upscale, but we could go with DS5. And the Grand Floridian is a wonderful resort to visit in the evening -- with the lobby orchestra playing!

I Completely agree with this. While we LOVE FF, Citricos is still our fave!

Love Citrico's it's my favorite of all the Disney restaurants. Food and service is wonderful and if you get a seat by the window it is very romantic.

Flying Fish is another of my favorites. Again service and food is very good, not as quite and romantic as Citrico's, but the boardwalk is a fun place to hang-out before and after your meal.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of your choices there all very good restaurants.

Both are good but I would go with Flying Fish. FF is a bit more relaxed than Citricos and we love to dine at the chefs bar in front of the kitchen. If you would like to upscale the meal a bit look into the chefs tour. It is a special multi-course dinner served at the chefs bar with each course being presented by the Chef. We did this on our last trip in May and it was fantastic. They have two seatings a night at 5:30 and 8:15 and you need to call the restaurant to reserve it.

We also did the Chef's Tasting in May. To be honest, we have never been disappointed with the food or service at Flying Fish. I recently wrote a review - check it out -> http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2506696

Flying Fish's food is my favorite of Disney's signatures, although it is "lively" here. Citricos has a much better atmosphere and overall dining experience.

We love love love FF. We have been 3 times in 3 years and it never disappoints. We love to share the mussels, desserts are killer, and we always get the chefs special seafood offering.

I totally agree. DH and I love Citricos. We have tried FF twice and it is no longer on our "to do" list. I won't go into details, other than to say..the service has always been good to great, but the food, especially the main entrees left a bit to be desired. One time DH and I both had the potato wrapped snapper and while mine was very good...DH's tasted extemely "fishy" like it had been sitting in the hot sun for 24hrs. And, another visit I was served basically raw scallops.
Citricos is great food and service with a more romantic (adult) quiet atmosphere.:thumbsup2

We love Flying Fish Cafe! FF and Narcoossee's are our all time favorites! Citricos was alright, but we only dined there once. I absolutely love FF though! I usually order the Potato Wrapped Red Snapper, it is sooo good! I can't wait to go again in Aug!!!

ooh, that's a tough one. I love both Citricos and Flying Fish, so don't think you could go wrong with either of them. If I had to choose one though, I'd go with Flying Fish. It's my favorite Signature on property. I just love their tomato/mozzarella salad or mussels for appetizers, along with their scallops or char grilled steak for an entree. I also prefer their dessert trios or cheese plate over the desserts at Citricos.

I'd go to Citricos though just for their crab gateau:cloud9:. I love their pork, but wasn't impressed with their steak the last two times I've had it. I used to love their berry gratin for dessert, but it hasn't been on the menu the last several times I've been there. Their banana/chocolate dessert is good though.

Service has always been top notch at both, but the atmosphere is much nicer at Citricos. I'd still go with Flying Fish though. I've never had a bad meal there and in fact have always loved everything I've ordered.

I have been to both many times and they are both among my favorites at WDW. I'd give the slight edge to Citricos, but you can't go wrong whichever one you pick (if it was me, I'd dump one of your other meals and go to both!).

Since the OP is already going to a restaurant specializing in fish, I would suggest dropping the Flying Fish and going to Citrico's--more variety that way. And, given my 'druthers, I would prefer the Flying Fish to Narcoossee's--unless I desperately wanted to view the fireworks from the restaurant that evening.

If I were you, I'd dump Narcoossee's. I know you asked about Citricos and Flying Fish, but we have been disappointed in Narcoossee's twice this year and we've removed it from our choices for later this month even though we're staying at the Grand Floridian.

If you were removing one of the other meals, which one?

I'd drop either San Angel Inn or Yachtsman. I've given San Angel Inn multiple tries, but have yet to receive good service or food. Yatchsman is OK, but the chargrilled steak at Flying Fish was MUCH better.:lovestruc Yatchsman used to have an absolutely wonderful seafood salad. They still have a seafood salad that's pretty good, but no where near as good as the old one. I've yet to find a dessert I like there, though their banana dessert and their sorbet is not bad.
