:3dglassesWe´ll be visiting Universal on a Sunday next month, and I was planning on dining in the Gardenwalk after the park (we'll be staying at DLH), at Fire + Ice or CPK's or Bubba Gump, we'll decide at the time.
BUT.. DH has a point: we'll be at US likely all day (it closes at 6pm) and after driving an hour or so back to Anaheim, we'll be too tired to to dining out (specially since it will be at the end of our trip), so he's telling me that it might be a better idea to go to Citywalk after US, dine there at Bubba's or Wolfang's bistro, and then hit the road and back to the hotel.
Of course, there's another option... instead of going to the Garden, eat at Downtown something light (like La Brea or Jazz's express....), but DH's so excited to finally be able to go to Universal (we've done only Disney parks in our last 3 vacations, thanks to me! :rotfl:
What do you think is better? It's us and our 2 kids.. :3dglasses

Oh that is easy.. citiwalk.. hands down. They got cool shops, places to eat, etc! :cheer2: :dance3:

We will be spending a day at US during our trip next month and will be eating at City Walk. On top of that, I'm surprising my wife and daughters with a trip into It's Sugar (also at City Walk). They have a candy addiction but we've been on a health kick lately so they haven't been able to enjoy too much of it. Taking them there should make up for all of the sugar they've missed out on so far this year. :)

I echo funball's choice. City Walk hands down! They've got a nice variety of restaurants. We had an excellent post-USH dinner at the Saddle Ranch Chop House on our last visit.

I'd stay and eat there. Plus, at 6:00pm, you are going to hit horrible traffic, might as well stay and eat before you get on the road.

I agree CityWalk, so much fun, we actually enjoyed it more than US...

We are going to Universal for day this coming trip too....and figure we will eat at Citiwalk.

Any good restaurant recommedations? Where do you usually eat?

the block at orange is sooo run down now.. like last time i was there stores were closing. and it was kinda empty. the only thing they have going for them is that skate board store with the outdoor skate rink in the back an the dave and busters and the theater....other then that it's as worse as the garden walk... same cookie cutter stores.. but at citiwalk it's different it has life and newer places to eat!

We ate at Bubba Gumps at the City Walk our last trip. I really enjoyed the "outdoor" seating area. There were several other choices for food, but we love BG and usually go to the Garden Walk to eat there.

I agree with your DH for the reason he stated, plus you'll allow the rush hour traffic to subside a bit. I just looked at the list of restaurants at Citywalk and I don't know if it would win on that basis alone, but I strongly suspect there's more activity at CityWalk (I haven't been there in years).

That's the number one reason to stick around at City Walk. Big plus for City Walk

I also think City Walk is a little more Fun, Garden Walk more of a mall. Small + again for city walk.

Thanks everybody! I guess the decision is simple now, Bubba Gump at Citywalk :cool1:.
Another question... returning on a Sunday, how long should it takes us to get back to Anaheim? 1 hour?? :scared1: if we dine there, most likely we'll bet hitting the road close to 8pm.

uhh ha ha..maybe 1 hour if after 8pm..i dont know i am not good on time and stuff...just anyone that knows me beucase there is time and then there is "sara time", two different things...

Sorry I didn't notice that it was Sunday traffic shouldn't be terrible any time.

I would say 45 minutes. Things will be moving, so 45 with in and out of parking lots and onto the freeways.
