Cities for long weekends?

DH and I went to DC for a week last month. We had a great time and an added bonus is all the Smithsonian museums are free, we went in some we would never normally go in :thumbsup2

Boston and Washington DC, of course!

Some others I don't think anyone else has mentioned: Santa Fe, NM and Austin, TX.

We have been taking long weekend trips here and there as well. The 1st one we went to Wilmington, NC. Next month we have a cabin at Lake Greenwood, SC. I am really looking forward to that. We have several bigger cities around us but Indy is one of my favorites.

I was going to say Atlanta too. Of course, I am partial since I live here! You can visit the Coca Cola museum and the Georgia Aquarium which are next door to each other. You can get a City Pass and visit several attractions for one price. Lots of good restaurants, go to a Braves game (although they stink right now), visit Centennial Park, the zoo, Stone Mountain (about 30 minutes away). Not sure if you are into shows but the Fox Theatre is beautiful and a great place to see shows.

I also second everyone's Chicago suggestion. What a fun place! So much to do and see. Have some good shoes on tho.
