Citibank should be ashamed!

I don't know which disturbs me more... that Citibank bought the plane or that Obama has made it gov't business to care about such things. The fact that the White House dialed up Citibank and informed them about business decisions is a great example of how the concept of free enterprise in America is in deep trouble.

BUT the plane was bought with OUR $$$$$$...and the heads of all the people they just laid off due to "financial crisis"!

Listen guys,
Forget about the politicians. There are things that we can do. 1st, as mklingdomlvr mentioned, immediately stop doing as much business with citigroup that you can. If you have a cc, can you transfer it to another card. If you have a mortgage that's a little harder.

Next, file a complaint with the Federal reserve.

Lastly,
write a letter to the BBC (they can't force banks to do any thing but they do keep track of complaints & one thing banks hate is bad publicity). I also wrote a letter to Bank of America (who is just as bad as citigroup) to let them know why I took my actions.

Maybe by myself it doesn't make a difference but I am sick unto death of these banks raping me. !!

If some one is ripping the american people off I want every body and any body who can to speak up on it. This has nothing to do with free enterprise.
If you're stealing my money I don't care if you're the president of the US or the President of the local girl scouts, every one should be outraged.

If you're stealing my money I don't care if you're the president of the US or the President of the local girl scouts, every one should be outraged.

When the gov't gave that money to the banks (+ mortgage lenders; + auto makers; + whomever else) it was the same as if you or I had thrown a handful of cash at a crackhead. It would be stupid for us to adopt some faux outrage when the crackhead went and bought crack. So I'm not impressed when some gov't pinhead makes it their business to act like they're doing us a big solid by stopping Citi from taking delivery on a plane.

I agree with you that the bailout should NOT have happened, and I was absolutely SHOCKED that a Republican conservative president would pull so many strings to get it pushed thru. I was also surprised to see how many Republicans voted for the bailout. Honestly, I thought the byline of the Rep party was non-government interference. Oh heck no, I'm not impressed either. for me it's now more about, ok you screwed me once with this bailout, now I'm going to hold all you pinheads (from president on down to the ceo's) accountable.

I got rid of the "I'm only 1 person" train of thought this year. Now I make it my business to scream as loud as possible to my congresman, senator, BBC or any one I get flip off an email to. Yep, I know it probably gets filed in the garbage but I've gotta start some where.

I don't have accounts with Citi-bank. But if I did my checking and savings would be moved to a different bank and any credit cards would sit in a drawer unused. Plus I would write them a letter letting them know why they no longer would have my business.

That's how the financial industry has, pardon the expression, completely screwed American citizens. THEY control the credit reporting agencies, so THEY make all the rules. THEY wrote the bankruptcy laws, THEY wrote the "regulations" on credit cards. And now THEY have taken billions of taxpayer dollars without having to tell the taxpayers what they are spending that money on.

I completely blame President Bush and Congress for allowing this travesty to occur.

They 'control' the credit reporting agencies because they are the ones who pay them. It might not be right but someone has to.
