We are taking my DH to a Mets game on Fathers Day. (I hope it doesn't rain again.) I have a question about what you can bring in. I took this from the webpage:

Prohibited Items: Items larger than 16"x16"x8", coolers (hard-sided), cans, glass bottles, beverage containers, open containers, commercial audio/video equipment, alcoholic beverages, illegal substances, laser pointers, noisemaking devices, fireworks, animals (except for assistive purposes), weapons, food items and the like. :confused3

I was looking to see if we could bring in some bottled waters but I think that falls under beverage containers. What do you think. Sorry but my brain isn't working today. LOL This has me confused. How would you take it. There are 8 of us and if I could just bring in water that would really help.

I've been there twice, and the last time I went, I think I saw them confiscating plastic water bottles. (I don't bring in food or beverages). they are afraid that people would try to throw them on the field, I think. They do a bag check & they will wand you as well.

We went on Mother's Day - it is an awesome field!

I was drinking from a water bottle as we were walking in and security asked me if it was open. I said yes, so they said I could drink it before I went in, or gave me the option of tossing it. I sucked it down, of course! From his question I would assume that if it were not open he would have let me bring it in. I think they don't want you to fill them with alcohol and bring them in.;) As long as it's plastic, it poses no threat once you drink it, unlike glass. I'm sure there is a number on the Mets site that you can call to be sure.

I am a big fan of drinking a bottle of water just before I go in so I'm not tempted to spend $ on water once inside.

Be sure to try the shakes at the Shake Shack - I had a Black & White one that was awesome! It's basically a vanilla shake with fudge in it. MMMMMMMMM

Go early and walk around. In the parking lot you can find the old Shea bases, home plate and pitcher's mound. My kids ran the bases and we took pictures. :thumbsup2 The kids played whiffle ball on the whiffle ball field. As game time approached it got crowded though.

Let's Go Mets!

Now that I think about it, those bottles appeared to have something other than water in them. So your point makes more sense than mine!

I'm going next Wednesday too. So far I'm 2 for 2, maybe I should let them know I bring them luck, and they'll let me come more often! ;)

Thanks for the tips. We were going to get ice-cream inside but now I'm thinking we might need Hot Cocoa. Going to look for our poncho now. When will this rain ever end? :confused3
