Does anyone have experience taking a 9 month old to this show? I bought tickets for DD (4), DH and I for our trip in April. I originally thought the baby would happily sit on my lap. Now that shes getting older she a little more vocal and ansy than my oldest was.

Is this a show that you can leave your seat and walk around in the back isles if the baby gets fussy? She immediately calms down when she's being "walked", so I'm just hoping I'll still be able to see the the show if I have to get up with her. Or at the very least be able to switch off with my husband if we need to leave the theatre with her.

Thanks in advance.

wow you read my mind... was considering buying tickets to the show also for our trip in late April and was wondering if the DD 2 1/2 will be ok, is the show too loud, scary or anything that should put us out from going to it?

Also anyone have the direct link (tried google) to the Cirque show at WDW so i can check availability and such.

Hi N3rf! Glad I could help by throwing it out there ;) I've never been, but I have relatives that have. They have assured me that its not scary or loud for young kids. They thought DD 4 would love it.

Its a done deal for me, because I already bought the non-refundable tickets..but I'm just trying to prepare for the worst with my youngest.

Cirque is one of my favorite shows to see, we try to catch it every time it travels to Dallas. Imo, it's quite loud. The music is live, the singers are live (one of the reasons I like it so much) and it can be a bit intense. The ones I've been to, they ask you to not get up and move around because sometimes the artists come out into the audience, plus it's really, really dark.

It's been eight years since I've seen La Nouba, so I can't quite remember if that one is too much different than the ones in Vegas or the ones that tour. It may be more kid friendly, but I think for me (and this is just for me) I might not take a baby. Again, someone may have seen it more recently than me and have a different opinion. :)

They are FANTASTIC shows though....You will LOVE it. Have fun!

Thanks Disneyfos, but the reason i asked is that I have been to other Cirque Du Soleil shows at Long Beach, Been to a total of 4 shows, Quidam (which i would consider super scary for our daughter, has thunder and loud scary noises), Dralion on the other hand was great family friendly, and great show all and all, Delirium was wonderful at the Staple Center, loved the music and our daughter was fine (first show we took her too), and last was O, also great show and more toddler friend...

but glad you are asking the questions becuase those are the same ones I would liked answered before i buy our DD a ticket and find out she is freaked and we have to leave or she just get extremely scared and pretty much ruins the vacation.

No, there isn't anyplace to walk a fussy baby within the theatre - and I suspect that the people who paid $80 for their tickets would not be excited about a fussy baby not immediately taken outside anyway.

Personally, I'd be really tempted to call Fairy Godparents and get a sitter. We wouldn't take our kids until they were older than yours because of the cost - its too expensive (and wonderful) a show to risk the "but I need to go potty" break.

We saw La Nouba almost 7 years ago and I've been to several other Cirque shows since, so I may be confusing all of them, but.....if I remember correctly, the seating doesn't allow for walking with a baby. When you enter the theater, the last row of seats is right to your left and right and the seating is stadium-type seating with graduated rows of seats. Your only option for walking would be in the aisle (not a great idea as you will be in the way of people watching) or having to leave the theater.

I don't remember La Nouba being scary, but Cirque typically has fairly loud music. Lots of movement and colors, so your baby might enjoy watching!

Good luck.

I'm not talking screaming..I'm talking squirming in our lap (which is a worse case).

Their site says it for all audiences even with tickets for 3-9 year olds. so I'm not sure I would go that far that children aren't welcome.

Found a bunch of reviews on all ears net and I see that lots of young children really enjoyed it

We saw the show in 2007.
I agree that I would not take a baby.

I would be so worried about the baby starting to cry that I would not be able to enjoy myself. And then, if the baby did start to cry, it would not be any fun having to go to the lobby to walk with the baby.

My dd and I saw it 2 years ago and LOVED it!!!

The other commenters are correct: very dark with loud, live music.

La Nouba does make an announcement to remain in your seats and that's because the performers will be moving around you and in the aisles. And I don't mean walking! In one case they've got bmx bikers riding up and down the aisles and the stairs. Very cool!

I agree. Dark & scarey come to mind w/ this show. If I paid all that $$ and was sitting near a fussy baby (you won't know how she reacts until your there) I would be mad. The music is too beautiful to have disrupted. We waited until Britt was 9 before we would go. We didn't want to risk her being bored or figity as it is really hard to get up due to the darkness.

Think i will have to just have a babysitter take care of DD for one night have have the wifey and I go alone... would hate to ruin anyone else's enjoyment of the show specially after they paid so much for the tickets.... thx for the advice everyone will definatly plan this one :)

No way would I have attempted it with DS when he was 9 months old. He would never be able to sit still that long, and once he starts getting antsy, he starts getting vocal. But every baby is different, and you know your baby best. Personally, I would go for a babysitter. Enjoy the show!

I'm not saying you CAN'T bring them. I'm saying that if it were me, I wouldn't want to spend $80 on a ticket to risk spending most of my time standing out in the lobby with a child that couldn't handle sitting through the show. But I'm really selfish that way. For me, it has far less to do with the risk of inconviencing strangers - far more to do with the risk of inconviencing myself.

(I'm the same way on signature restaurants - kids are welcome in them - I wouldn't take my small kids to them. I'm not worried about them screaming and disturbing you, I'm worried about them screaming and disturbing ME. Far better they do that over a $20 hour long meal than a $50 two hour long one. If my kids do misbehave, I'll remove them for the comfort of others, but that kind of puts a crimp in my meal.)

We took our DS (then 3 months) to Circque when it came through town. I bought seats on the end in case I need to take him out. And I would have at the first sign of fussiness.

I thought he would just sleep through it. He watched the entire show! When my husband turned him away from the stage, he turned around to watch it!

That being said, if he was 9 months old I wouldn't have taken him. They do get squirmy at that age and I don't think I or anyone around me would have enjoyed the show.

It's been awhile since I saw La Nouba as well, but I think the show, other than being loud, is great for kids.

I think you've made the right decision. Thank you for your consideration of others in the audience. :goodvibes

thx.... bought the tickets and now just have to make the reservation for the in-room babysitting.

Good decision. You'll want to give your undivided attention to the show and that's hard when you have a young one to worry about. Goodness knows I haven't savored a meal out in forever! Enjoy the evening!
