I wonder if anyone can give me some information about this Disney attraction at DTD. We've heard some good things about it but am not exactly sure what it is.

Also, what is the best way to purchase tickets? We will be at WDW this December. We'd like to get seats in the lower bowl as close to the front as possible, but have been told that the on-line ticket service only sells upper bowl seats. Any suggestions? Thanks!:wave2:

We went several years ago. I bought our tickets over the phone through them directly. We sat in the uppper half. I don't like the lower seats. Too much looking up. As to exactly what it is...hmm, that's a hard one. It's somewhat surreal. A combination of theater and circus. My dh doesn't really like the theater or the circus. (I don't care for the circus myself). But, he really enjoyed Cirque. It is really incredible. It is visually stunning. Sometimes Bravo on TV has specials on the various Cirque shows around the world. Sorry I can't better describe it to you. Maybe someone else can. But go. You'll like it.

Cirque du Soleil is a european circus... in other words, there is no animals but lots of trapeze type stuff. However, they are specially trained to do crazy things - like with giant rubber bands, etc. They are based out of Canada where their big school is. They have a bunch of touring shows and four resident shows (with special buildings built for each one). Check out their website for more information as well as video clips from different shows. You just have to search around for them. www.cirquedusoleil.com

I absolutely love cirque! There are only two shows we haven't seen - La Nouba is one of them but not for long. They are all great. I have heard that you can get better seats by booking a package where that is cirque is a choice or by calling their tickets number. Some people aren't partial to lower bowl front row tickets. You do end up looking up, but they are so close that you can touch and that is awesome. For us, we always sit in the center, lower front seats (when the theater/tent set up is like that).

We sat at the front of the second level near the center--excellent seats! I don't know how to describe it other than AWESOME! We absolutely loved it. It is like being transported to some other world and the time just flies by. Even my kids name it as one of the best things we did at Disney.

Don't know when you will be there in December but La Nouba will not be performed December 5 - 13. Hope your trip doesn't fall into those dates!

This is a must see show!!

Check your tv listings as sometimes Bravo (and maybe some others) will have a program on Cirque. If you watched the opening ceremonies of the French Winter Olympics a few years ago, there were some Cirque performers there. It is a beautiful show-somewhat artsy. Lots of acrobatics, tumbling, singing (though I dont think they sing actual words-didnt sound like French to me), and other acts some of which will blow your mind as to how they make it look so easy. La Nouba is one of a few permament facilities (Las Vegas has another) and most are traveling shows. Check out their website. Tickets are expensive (what isnt at WDW) but well worth it. A friend got our tickets (she had printed them off the computer so not sure how she did it) but we were front (second row) and center. I wouldve liked to been up a bit higher though-maybe mid way as you did a lot of looking up, and it was a bit creepy when the performers were right in front of you almost in your face. Plus, the performers come out the sides and parade around the middle of the arena before the show, so we had to twist around to see them. By the way, no words are spoken-the story is told through actions and grunts. Its easy to follow though.

AUGH! My trip is during December 3-10. Man, I can't believe this....my DH and I have never seen La Nouba, though we certainly had plenty of opportunity. We are just not "show" people....(we LOATHED Festival of the Lion King , for instance), but this one sounds like a must-see. I have never even read one remotely negative review. Guess I'll have to wait til the next trip!

Thanks for everyone's response. It does seem to be a "must see" show. Fortunately, we will be at WDW beginning Dec. 19, so we can attend one of the shows. I believe the earliest we can call for tickets is 6 months prior to the show date. I will do my best to get seats in the lower bowl if I can, or upper bowl toward the front (based on everyone's consensus on where to sit). Thanks again.:wave2:

Don't forget to check out the video rental stores. Though I do have to say that live is the way to really see it. Amazing. I've seen all of them live, and will be going again on this trip next week.
