Cirque du Soleil opinions????

actually HE is the one who brought it up after watching the Disney special on the travel channel last night! they had a section on Cirque---i can take it or leave it.

you know you all convinced me to buy the tix-- it is our anniversary about a week before we leave for disney anyway- so i can say that is what they are for!

i did check mapleleaf tix- but i will check out some of the other sites someone had mentioned a few posts back.

DH is a bit more "frugal" than i- he always says to me "you like to buy things...just to buy them" :rotfl2: usually all i have to just say is "oh stop it" when he makes a money comment and 5 minutes later- he forgets we even had the conversation! (you know how it is ladies) ;)

-- well not when it comes to his power tools.....his garage....his motorcycle......his john deere.....the lawn......do you see where i am coming from ! :rotfl2:

so yes, i will but the tix and that you all for your comments! :goodvibes

Can anyone who has been tell me how long it lasts for? I just made reservations for a 6 PM show on Nov. 28, Section 103, Row A, Seats 8 & 9 - I am freaking out about the wonderful seats!!!! I figure we will have to eat dinner after the show so I am wondering what time I should make our dinner reservations for.

YUP. Done by about 7:45pm as dnoyes posted. With Cirque there is NO intermission. They will also have a 10pm show. TWO SHOWS A NIGHT!

AWESOME SEATS!!! You will be THRILLED!!!

Thanks!! I am really looking forward to it. My DH has been really wanting to go, so it will be a great thing to do for his first Disney World trip.

well everyone- i would like to thank you all for your advice and helping me to change my mind and go to the show.

i was just on the phone with Disney and was told Cirque shows are blacked out for 9/19 to the 23rd and closed sundays and mondays (9/17 and 9/18) and guess what-- that is every day DH and i will be there! :rotfl2:

ahhhh- i cant win. well i guess we will have to do it next time! ;)

thanks!

WHATTTTTTTT........ahhh... :sad2: that is a shame.....I know for a fact you would have come back to us telling us what a fabulous time you had....too bad!

We saw a Cirque show in Las Vegas - the one where they do part of it in water, "O" I think. IMO it was truly awful. I thought it was the worst show I have ever seen, it was boring and without rhyme or reason. Very new-agey and obscure. The music drove me nuts. I actually got up in the middle and walked out of it and waited for DH and friends in the lobby.

OH-MY!

i dont think i would have disliked the show- it looked pretty cool from the show we were watching. it was something i could take or leave-- but now i cant go i want to take it! :rotfl2:

FWIW- my wife is attending a large conference in Toronto, and one night they have a dinner in a large facility and on the stage will be a special performance by Cirque. Will be interesting to see how elaborate it is and how compares to La Nouba.

I wondered which tier to sit in...we could get 103 row A, but I worried that we would be looking up a lot...or 203 row FF. THe first one is $95, the second is $77...but after reading this post, I am guessing that up higher is better> any other opinions?

What happened to me, is that it was built up to be so unbelievably, awesomely, out of this world, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, fantactisimo that I have NO idea what I expected, but my expectations far exceeded the reality and we ended up very disappointed. BUT, I learned a big lesson, take opinions as just that, opinions, and while a million people will think it's "out of this world", still go expecting just something different and entertaining, And now I do that for everything.

If restaurants etc. are highly rated, I still go just to see for myself, but knowing, I might agree and LOVE it, or I might not like it either. That way, I'm not disappointed, but just glad I tried it for myself and I now know. I'm still excited to try it, but don't get my expectations up so high. Anyway, I'd see it sometime if I were you, but go with an open mind. It's circus acts, set to music and drama, in a very different way. You might like it, you might not.

We really enjoyed the show. It is not something we would want to do every trip but something well worth the time and money every few years. :thumbsup2

If I could pick any seat it would be the front row of the back center section.
