Circle Journal - any interest?

That was my big fear for my first one, but its actually not as bad as you think!

I'm at work so no pics But the title page (in other words your front page) has the topic of the book - maybe why you chose it. For my sign-in pages I made a pocket along the bottom of each page and on that (I think I remember;) ) I did my "rules" - the basic guidelines are set out on the sign-up, but some people like to specify handwritten or typed journalling, or how many pics/topics (like top 3 or something). I put WAY too many rules but luckily most people ignored them:lmao: as I'd changed my mind. In the pocket I had a number of tags - I used patterned paper, big enough for each person to put their details (DIS name, real name and location plus photo) on the back. Other poeple did other things - one had little flaps a bit like an advent calendar.

Thing is, its a book thats coming back to you so its not like a swap where other people have to "use" your things. So for me there's less stress - yes, I worried that my pages wouldn't be "good enough", but its just going to be in a book, unlike stuff which people might say "Yuck! I'll never use that! What was she thikjning of???" (I always worry poeple will say that about my stuff, but everyone is so kind I know they'd never tell me;) )

I'm sure others have pics so I'll get back to work now:rolleyes1

Hmmmm, I really like the idea of this. I am going to have to think on this one.

Its only my second - its such fun! and its a nice challenge to think of stuff to fir someoene else's theme.:goodvibes

I think I would love to do this......but I have some questions. Postage costs? Time frame to complete and pass on? Sorry. I like details!

Generally when I have done it in the past you pass it on either on the 15th or the 1st of each month- so if you get it on time you should have about a month to complete it. I generally use a flat rate box- part of why we don't use albums that are 12 by 12 but generally go with 8 by 8 to 10by10- they can ship in the smaller flat rate box. If you are ready early then you coulkd send the album by 1st class mail with dc.

Generally they are set up in a circle so everyone is shipping to the area nearest to them- for a couple of months sometimes flat rate isn't the cheapest price but by the time 4 months have gone by the books start getting fairly heavy.

ME Me me...

Ashley, you have to do this with Holly and I (this will be my first one too):goodvibes Ooooh, ATCs, circle journals, its like Christmas for me:thumbsup2

Tinker, I'm really leaning towards doing it. It sounds like fun and it would be great fun to get to know everyone better.

Even DH liked looking at my CJ when it came back - and he doesn't really "get" scrapping (Hobbycraft - our local craft shop - makes him nauseous even without seeing my bill:lmao: )

What I did last time (in case anyone is worrying about being the one who posts to me) is that I just sent pages around and kept the cover here, and Marlynnp was kindly my postie - she sent me the sign-in tags and posted photos of the instructions on a photo site and I sent her back the completed tag and my pages and she's send it all on. She was such a buddy!:worship: :lovestruc as it can be a PITA to have to keep going to the PO.

I would be interested, but once again someone will have to hold my hand first time out!:goodvibes

You would do a beautiful job. It isn't hard. You make some pages with tags for people to sign in and then you are just making scrapbook pages each month. You do beautiful work so I know you could do this. Putting the album together is the hardest part but we could work together as a group giving anyone who needed a hand one.

Mazda, if you need a "postie buddy" this time around, I'll be happy to do it for you.

Thank you Stephanie! That works well with you being on the East coast (not that it really makes a difference, just in the logic of arranging the circle;) )

I've picked my topic already:goodvibes and I've even got an album:rotfl2: (thanks SS:thumbsup2 )

Awe shucks, I might even open sign-ups early. Do your sales start straight after Christmas or do they wait til January? I'd hate for anyone to miss a bargain:upsidedow
