my family and will be dining at wispering canyon cafe and then horse back riding at circle d ranch. My question what is the best way to get there from the restaurant? Thanks

You have your choice of walking the path that connects the 2 resorts, taking a bus to the Settlement bus stop, or taking the resort launch. Not sure there is a "best". Depends on your preference, and perhaps how much time you have.

The trail ride is at the outpost end of the campground which is the opposite end of where the boat docks. The pony rides are at the horse barn that is near the boat dock. I would take the boat and then get on the internal bus that would take you to the other end of the campground. I think I read that the walk from wilderness lodge is a little more than a mile. Not sure. We never walked it. Always took the boat when we went between the fort and the lodge.

It is true that the riding stable is at the Outpost. But the bus from WL to FtW goes to both the Settlement and then the Outpost. Just take the bus, and stay on until the Outpost.

Unless you just want to ride the boat for fun, and then transfer to the bus at the Settlement. There is a short walk, less than 5 minutes, from the Settlement dock to the bus stop.
