Cinnamon Roll Tour 2009 - 14 days of free DDP!

WPE breakfast looks fantastic. I wish we had the time to eat there, but I don't see us spending a morning at DTD... I can't give up my prime park touring time... :goodvibes

I know what you mean, it was very quiet in there, we had a day out of disney planned so it wokred well for us that day. amazing value for money tho :thumbsup2

Oh yummy waffles, they look divine :)

They were amazing, we had trouble doing them justice really.

Lunch at T-REX

I had booked a lunch ressie at T-Rex for 1pm. Man it was busy. We mosey on up to the outside podium and got in line in the heat of the sun. The staff went to great lengths with each customer to advise them that the meal could not be incl. on the DDP. Yes I understood this. Yes that was fine! Jeez

Florida2009529.jpg

We were seated pretty quickly our server was Natalia.
I ordered a Mango Mojito - delish.

Florida2009536.jpg

We didn't want apps as we were still full from breakfast, so we just ordered mains.

DH had the Bronto Burger. he said this was really juicy and a big burger!

Florida2009557.jpg

DD12 had fish n chips, they were served in a conical devise, she enjoyed this.

Florida2009556.jpg

I had Lasagna. this was really fresh and tasty, much better than I was expecting.

Florida2009555.jpg

DD7 had nuggets, fries and carrot sticks, she played with her food more than she ate...oh well :rolleyes1

Florida2009558.jpg

We didn't have desserts ( but we did happen to wander into ghiradelli's for a free chocci sample :rolleyes1

Review:

Lighting level : 7/10 Every 20 mins or so there is a meteor shower. 1st time i t happens you think wow, the 2nd time you think, ok nice, the 3rd time you think - enough already, and we were only their for mains, if you had 3 courses it would really get on your nerves.

Noise level: 7/10 - very noisy. esp. when t'he shower' arrives.

Ambience: 9/10 great scenery, sounds and moving parts, (ahem) always something to look at, and make sure you pop to the restroom, the detail continues in there too.

Service: 8/10 our server was efficient and helpful. I got a free souvenier glass as I had ordered a cocktail- nice touch. no complaints at all. not at all pushy and accepted our no for desserts quite well.

food quality: 8/10 - much better than I expected. really big portion sizes and a bigger range of menu items than most disney run places.

Dine again? : yes we would, but I am not so sure that you would want to eat here if you didn't have kids in tow. maybe just a drink at the bar would suffice. This place is very popular with families because of the theming and not at all romantic, kids rush around the restaurant to see all of the dino's scattered about.

Andrea - fantastic reviews and amazing pictures!:thumbsup2

I was interested to hear about Olivia's as we are staying at OKW next August and intend to book Olivia's for our first night meal.

I love the over abundance of the desserts! We collected lots when we were at CBR last year and also had them most mornings for breakfast!;)

Glad you enjoyed CG - it's a must do for us every visit. We're hoping to try Narcossees this time too.

Love your WPE & T-Rex pictures & reviews... we're really going to try hard to make it to both of those places in February!!:thumbsup2 Thanks for taking the time to do this report!!!:goodvibes

Wish I'd seen this before we went to Restaurant Marrakesh!
Your food looks DIVINE- what you would expect from Morrocco- a variety of interesting foods.

Not only did we feel unwelcome at RM- we waited 7 minutes at our table before anyone gave us water or menu or spoke to us:confused3- but the food was BLAH! and i would much rather have had your yummy meals!
The belly dancing was not worth the mediocre food and 2 TS credits!:headache:

I like Tangerine much better then Marrakesh. Tangerine is my favorite CS, while Marrakesh I've only been to once, and am not rushing back to.

Yummy looking Cherry Danish (those are really good). Whats the Viking Coffee like?

yes they were fine, I was disappointed with the bacon, but I am with all disney bacon

The food is cooked fresh for you, and the portion sizes are great. excellent food and great value for money.

the danish was divine:lovestruc. The coffee was rich and had the addition of a not insignificant amount of alcohol.;) this would be perfect on a cooler day.

Just catching up - great reviews :thumbsup2

Those brekkies from Sunshine Seasons look yummy...and those Kringla desserts...

We'll be checking in to SSR in 3 1/2 weeks for our free DDP trip :dance3: Can't wait to try all these yummy foods :cool1:

Dinner at Coral Reef

I had made and ADR for 4:10 pm, so we wandered over in plenty of time. The podium area was quite busy and noisy and we had to wait longer than other places for our pager to go off, but we were in the air-con so it didn't really matter too much.

florida2009714.jpg

We were seated in the 3rd row of seating back fromthe tanks with quite a good view of this fella, who seemed to go for a swim and then come back to his place - quite amusing, he had a little nip at a ray that was resting there and the ray soon moved off. " get out of my chair dude"

florida2009705.jpg

We didn't order apps as we were so full from our cakes from Kringla bakery.

we did make some room for the bread and butter. nice and fresh.

florida2009700.jpg

I had Roasted Scottish Salmon - with leek fondue, Orecchiette pasta, asparagus, and red wine reduction $23.99. this was so yummy, but I don't like asparagus so DH ate those. ( yucky green sticks )

florida2009702.jpg

Both DH and DD12 had Grilled New York Strip Steak - served with roasted potatoes, watercress, and tomotoes tossed in caramelized shallot vinaigrette $30.99. they both loved it.

florida2009703.jpg

DD7 opted for pizza, now there's a surprise ;)

florida2009704.jpg

for dessert we all had The Chocolate Wave - served with raspberries $7.99 ( DD& had ice-cream) I love this dessert and it is so well presented.:lovestruc, a word of warning. that little purple mickey is rock hard and could seriously damage your nashers  leave it alone.

florida2009709.jpg

we used 4 tabler service credits, but the bill came to $132.49 and the tip was $23 - we all had a cola each as well.

Review:

Lighting level: 8/10 - nice lights, check out the lights in the reception/check-in area, they are cool. there is a nice glow from the enormous tank too.

Noise level: 8/10 not too bad really, there is a low hum and the odd clatter but you can hear everyone in your group well enough.

Ambience: 9/10 very fishy indeed. Our kids were given a card to id all of the critters in the tank, which kept them amused for some time. It is very relaxing. i would avoid the table at the front of the tank as people seem to let their kids rush up to the tank and they squeze past you to do so. Also, everyone is looking in your direction, so no private moments. theres not a bad seat in the place so head to the back troups!

Service: 9/10 our server was Amy and she was very welcoming and friendly, we wanted for nothing.

food quality: 8/10 we really enjoyed our meal and it's one of our favorite places to eat. The portion sizes are not as large as some other restaurants, so you might want to have apps or a side.

dine again ? : absolutley, where else can you eat fish and watch it swim by? a unique dining experience and the choc wave is worth waiting for.

Glad you enjoyed Coral Reef - a positive review for CR at last :lmao:

We've booked an ADR for our next trip, but have been a bit iffy on going with all the less than positive reviews, but the food looks great :thumbsup2

Can't beat the setting either :thumbsup2

Looking forward to reading more :goodvibes
