Hello all. I have 6:30 dinner ressies on 9/25 for CRT. Our group consists of myself, 2 other adults, and my 5 year old son. None of us have ever eaten inside the castle before. What I'm wondering is... is it really worth it?

It's 2 table dining points for each of us, including my 5 y/o son. For that I could eat at Chef Mickey's for breakfast and then eat at TTS for dinner. We're already doing the HDDMR the night before for my son's 5th b-day, which also costs 2 table dining points a head.

So, other than the "cool factor" of eating inside the castle, is there any real reason why I should do this? I'm seriously considering cancelling our ressie.

Thanks all in advance.

We never have done it, and I wanted to for DD when she was 6. I saw the inside of the place because I needed to speak to the manager because when setting up an ADR outside, the girl goofed up the reservation and lost it.
It looks like a Henry the 8th style castle dining room, which would have been cool I suppose. Red seats and dark woods everywhere. Yellow lighting to resemble candlelight. The manager gave us a special time the next day because of the goof up, but we decided against it because of scheduling.

I am being very sexist here, but I am not sure your DS would care about the princesses enough to burn two TS credits. We are not doing it next trip because DD8 is not that interested anymore.

We have done the CRT brkfst ( before the changes ) and we really enjoyed it. We have 4 dd's ;) . We will be on the dining plan this time and we have decided not to do it again. We are going to try 1900 Park Fair for our princess fix.

The inside does look like a castle, but I don't know that my kids really ever appreciated it. It's not pink & pretty- more dark like a knight's castle.

If it's the princesses that are important to you, then you can do another meal at Epcot or 1900 park fair. If it's the novelty of the castle; give it a try.

I have never tried the princess meal in Norway, but I hear that is designed like a castle too.

Good luck

We really enjoyed it last year and are doing it again in December. We haven't been there since the changes so I'm curious to see how different it is. My boys (who were 4 & 5) at the time, really enjoyed it. My little one even got to give Cinderella a big hug & kiss (the highlight of his trip!)

The food was very good and the atmosphere was wonderful. It may not be worth 2 credits to everyone but for us it is. I personally wouldn't do 2 TS meals but that is just me being stingy with my credits.

it really just depends. there is a thread on here that shows the inside of restaurants and it has some pics of CRT. i like it b/c its a tradition for us, but its not worth it for some ppl, b/c the food isnt that great and you can see just as many characters and have great food at 1900 park fare (also a tradition) but if you are already doing HDDMR then i dont know...sorry i just kind of rambled! :surfweb:

We did not get Breakfast ADRS.. so we went for dinner at the castle in March 2006 and the kids DD4 and DD6 were very impressed to go inside the castle, as they were wanting to do this from the minute they saw it. We did get to see Cinderella in the lobby which was terrific for DD4 and that was very magical! The meal was just OK but I loved the berry sorbet and the BLT salad was good but very small. The Fairy Godmother and Mice sang songs and bounced around during a portion of the dinner. I am glad we did it once, for the cool factor, but won't do it again unless the kids insist... just not worth 2 TS credit for the atmosphere IMHO. Having been there done that I would prefer another new experience. They give you a VERY LARGE blue tube that contains your "free" lithograph and it was a pain to carry around the rest of the evening and took up 1/4 of the suitcase on the way home. We were very glad to do this once, but it is not on our favorite lists.

Well, I think I'm just gonna go ahead and do it.

1) In all the years I've been going to WDW I've never once even seen the inside of the place in person, let alone eaten there.

2) I don't feel like reshuffling anymore ressies and all that stuff. 8 more TS credits would translate into 3 more restaurants to dine at (we'll be paying cash for the little one at all the others except HDDMR), and 3-4 more CS credits when I replace one of them with a TS.

So, I think I'll just go and give it a shot. :teeth:

We did this in February for Dinner and last Sept for Breakfast. The breakfast was good and alot of fun with the princesses. The Dinner was really nice. Cinderella is downstairs for one on one and pictures are taken. You will receive a free 5x7 picture as well as the Lithograph. Upstairs it is the Fairy Godmother with the two mice. We enjoyed the dinner and thougt the food was good. For your son he may enjoy the one on one with Cindy and not all the fuss that goes with the Breakfast lunch. The dinner was much more relaxing to me. Enjoy :sunny:

mikymouse...So, only the Fairy Godmother and mice were upstairs during dinner? We were there a few weeks ago for lunch, and the princesses were there too. Now, I'm trying to find out the details so I know what to book for our Sept. trip!! :sad2:

For the CRT dinner, Cinderella is in the lobby and the Fairy Godmother and Mice were upstairs. I believe the princesses are only upstairs for Breakfast and Lunch. We had what I believe was one of the first dinner ADR times at 4:45PM and we did get a lot of one-on-one time with Cinderella which was really magical. It took a while after we were seated upstairs for the Fairy Godmother and Mice to appear to sing their song. We got autographs from Cinderella but nothing from the Fairy Godmother and Mice (the fairy god mother did give my DH some special attention but it was brief and the mice were very nice to sing behind my children's chairs so I could snap some pictures).

The kids really loved being INSIDE the castle and walking up and down the winding stairs. They are 4&6, so EVERYTHING is a wonderful adventure. We ending up getting our princess fix over at Akerhus(Norway Epcot) which I would highly recommend for the character interaction. I almost cancelled the CRT Dinner, after I got the Norway Princess Lunch, but I am glad we did this once! I have read that some folks feel rushed but we never did at CRT, very nice group of folks running the place.
