I just booked lunch at CRT for October 1. I had to wait on hold for about 15 minutes, and while I was holding a recorded message advising that CRT had "probably already sold out" was played. However, when the CM picked up, I was able to choose between several lunch times with no problem. I think the tape may refer to breakfast only, or may be a relic from the days when the characters only appeared at CRT during breakfast.

I think it does still refer to the breakfast, as that has always been the hot ticket in town and still does sell out within minutes each morning.

It'll take a bit longer for the lunch to catch on =)

I will be trying this tomorrow. (crossing my fingers) I got Chef Mickeys today for our arrival day. Now on to the rest of the week! I have 2 days "blocked" for CRT so if I call tom'w & its not available I will try again ...hopefully that will work...Good luck to all.

I got that message the other day when I called also. I stayed on the line figuring that I would just book lunch. After another 10 minutes on hold, I had my pick of multiple lunch times and 8:25 for b-fast!! So I took the b-fast seating. I was on hold for a total of 20 minutes. I guess it never hurts to ask.

This morning I followed the tips on pg 142 of CRT Sticky and was on hold for over 15 min. Heard the message and thought oh well maybe lunch then. A few minutes after that I got a very nice CM (I was so nervous I didn't hear her name) and she started to read times. I took the first one which was 8:20am. WOOO HOOO!

She asked for a credit card # as a hold but it won't be charged for those on the MYW dining package (we are on the "free" plan) and she said to bring an id with me because they will ask for it when we check in at the podium.

Thanks for letting me share my excitement, dh and dd are still asleep- I should wake them up!

PS- Did anyone else get ADR's for 10/2 and at what time? That would be great to see fellow DISers.

I hope you had better luck that I did this morning....I finally gave up after 25 minutes on hold I figured, at that point, the PSB at Epcot is probably gone.

Why is the call volume so heavy today? The holiday?

edited to add: I called around 9AM and was able to get the PSB at Epcot, with a choice of times yay!

The day I wanted to book breakfast at CRT, I set my alarm incorrectly and didn't wake up until 7:25am. Even so, I still was able to get a 10:20 seating for my party -- exactly what I wanted since we prefer a later breakfast anyway. I was sure there would be nothing left, but obviously, I was wrong.

You and I are on the SAME PS path! We arrive October 1st and I was able to get Chef Mickey's for that night. Unfortunately, I am vacationing in the middle of NOWHERE (read: mom and dad's housein Iowa) and I overslept and didn't get CRT lunch this morning for the 2nd! aaaack!

I decided on Fantasmic dinner for that night at Mama Melrose's. My CM politely told me that I should really try to call at 7 am eastern, as if i didn't know LOL

Ah, well, i have several more days to try! We ought to plan a meal with both our gangs one night!

I got up plenty early, and called and was in queue, then after about 20 mins of holding my cell phone just hung up!!! I guess it was because I wasn't talking just waiting, I didn't realize that was the reason why at the time, so I immediatley called back waited again, and it HUNG UP AGAIN! So (knowing I was SOL) I called on my land line, and after total waiting time of 1.5 hours they had lunch, but I passed and will try for breakfast again tomorrow. LAND LINE ONLY LOL!

You were on hold for 1 1/2 hours! I would have given up long before then! I was on hold this morning for close to 15 minutes, BUT I got the CRT breakfast for 8:15!

I do have a question about the credit card though. Will they charge the hold and reverse the charges when you show up OR do they only charge the card if you do NOT show up?

I wasn't sure if we were doing AK or MK on 10/2 (changed my mind last nite at 11:30 p.m.) so I have CRT for 10:10 and Donald's for 8:00. I know .. bad me ... I will definitely cancel what I don't need at the end of this week when the PS's are made. I was hoping for an earlier CRT but took what was first available after holding from 6:58 - 7:15.

I also heard the recording about CRT probably being sold out .. not the case so definitely don't assume that it is sold out and hang up.
