Has anyone done this instead of having cake? Is it good, or is it something that's just pretty and doesn't taste as good? And are there any restaurants where you can order this so we can try it out? i was thinking I might be able to call the Cake Phone number, but I wasn't sure if any restaurants just offered this as one of their desserts. Well any help is appreciated! Thank you!

If you're doing a menu tasting & planning session, you can try Cinderella's slipper then! Otherwise, it has to be special-ordered if you want to have it at a restaurant, and you can only get it at the Grand Floridian's restaurants and Cinderella's Royal Table. Also, CRT's version is different than the one they serve at weddings - it comes on a bed of cake and occasionally you get a milk chocolate slipper instead of white chocolate.

I have seen people do dessert instead of wedding cake, and it certainly is unique to Disney.

Personally, I didn't think the slipper was much to write home about, but that's because I think white "chocolate" is a fraud, and chocolate mousse can't touch cake with frosting in my book! :rotfl: But lots of people love it. :goodvibes

Thank you for the info Carrie! I think I'm going to order it for my birthday dinner at Narcoossee's to try it out! Right now though I'd have to agree with you about cake. It's really hard to pass a good cake up! I guess I'll find out!

This desert is only valuable for the WOW factor. The only edible part of the desert is the berries and the mousse. White chocolate is made with paraphin wax and I think tastes like wax.

As a mom of a disney bride this was one of the first things I eliminated from the budget. Too expensive and tasted terrible!

Technically, there is no such thing as white chocolate as there is no chocolate liquer in white chocolate.

It does taste like wax.

Wow I had no idea it was wax!!! That isn't very tasty at all.

It's not wax! While chocolate is a confection of sugar, cocoa butter, and milk solids. It gets its name from the cocoa butter it contains, although cheap varieties of white chocolate will have most or all of the cocoa butter replaced by vegetable fats. :scared: This is true of real chocolate as well.

Really, if you're going to eat any kind of chocolate, it ought to be good quality! Poor quality chocolate is just WRONG! :snooty:

I liked it, and didn't think it tasted waxy at all. It was kind of awkward to eat though...even the chef said people normally end up picking it up and eating it with their hands. Despite that, I'm definitely having it!
