Just a quick review in case anyone else is thinking about this.

I ate there with my two daughters for dinner Sunday evening.

The overall impressions were: I was more excited about the prospects of eating there than actually eating there. My youngest (13yo) seemed to like it. It was good food. Service was sub-par. Could have just been an off night for our waitress, though.

Basically, it didn't feel like I was eating 'inside the castle' as much as it felt like I was eating 'inside a themed cafeteria inside the castle'. Yeah, I know that's what it is, just the fact that it felt like that was a bit disappointing.

Just the overall feeling of, "that wasn't so great."

The food was good, though. I've read other posts that the food was inedible. I liked it. I had the lamb as did one of my daughters. My other had the chicken. Not 'great!' - just good.

I wouldn't recommend people go nuts on getting a reservation unless their daughters are really young and nuts about Cinderella.

I won't eat there again unless it's a walk-up (which it'll never be) and I happen to be in the area.

UGh just about to post about this.
I have a DD who will be 5 when we go and thought we might try it.
We've never been there and for subpar service and inconsistent food....
it is rather expensive
decisions decisions:confused3

We have eaten there twice for breakfast, and would go back again in a heartbeat! We feel it is one of the best breakfasts in the parks!

We've gone for breakfast and lunch. Both was good, but we really enjoyed the lunch. We went 2 years ago and will be returning this year. We really enjoyed the food and our waitress was excellent. We had a wonderful seat by the window and it was perfect! We love it there!

We took our DD12 last Feb. and agree it is more for the younger ones. The food was good, not great, the service was good not great, the view was good not great (get the picture). The younger ones won't notice with all teh activity, singing, characters etc.

The highlight though (and I couldn't resist) was when I went to the men's room I casually asked the waitress "where is the Bippity-Boppity-Bathroom"?:rotfl2: . She got a nice chuckle out of that one!

We ate there for lunch last June, and DH and I both agreed that the meal was one of the best we had all that week. (We both ordered Major Domo's--and the chocolate buckle dessert--oh my WORD--delicious!!). Our service was excellent, and the princesses spent plenty of time with our children. Together with the photo package and the ambience of being in the castle, we found it to be well worth the price--or the 2 TS since we were on DDP. (And the look on DD's face when she saw Cinderella!! Priceless!) We're already planning to eat there again on our June 2009 trip!

My personal opinion is the expectations for some on CRT (not pointing anyone out but based on the reviews in general) are so high, that they would never be satisfied. I think that expectation exists for a number of reasons...it's THE castle, the most recognized landmark of the vacation destination of the planet...
We ate breakfast there last March (and will again this March) and thought it was money well spent. We went in with expectations for what it is...a regular breakfast with characters in an exceptional location...the added cost was for the location and photos, not for the food.
The food was good by normal restaurant standards, so we were more than happy. They could have brought out fried dog turds instead of sausage links and I would still wouldn't bash the experience...the look on my daughter's face was what I paid for.

Our experience at CRT was HORRIBLE. Worst service I've EVER had in a restaurant, Disney or otherwise. For a hundred dollar dinner, I would expect at least decency. The atmosphere was nice, but in no way made up for the lamb that barely seemed cooked and the server who probably spent a total of 30 seconds at the table during our entire stay. He greeted us with a "You guys ready to order?" after we had waited for him to come to the table for almost ten minutes. I cannot stress enough what a negative dinner experience we had. Would like to complain, but now that we're home, not really sure how to do so. The only way I would eat here again is if it was free.

Waiter was late, meat undercooked...I've had that happen before several places.

Maybe breakfast is the key?

It was the first time for both my girls 10 & 3 I never could get in for my older daughter on two previous visits. Well all I can say is that we had a fantastic time. Like a previous poster said - the look on my little one's face was worth the cost! My older daughter loved it too! I would definitely do it again. What a great way to start your vacation! See for yourself!

I've done CRT for lunch the past 3 years (and hope to do it again in July) as a tradition for my birthday. I love the food for lunch. I always get the pasta. All-in-all it is a good time.
