Cinderella's Royal Table reservation question.

I'm hoping to get some advice on changing the # in our party.

We have a dinner reservation for 4 at Cinderella's Royal Table for this upcoming Wednesday.
Only 3 of us will be able to make it. Since Cinderella's requires a guarantee with my credit card, I'm concerned that if we do not change the # in our party that my card will be charged for the 4th person not showing up. However, if I do change the # in the party could I possibly lose the reservation?

Either way I'm going to change it. I was curious though if there is a best way to handle the the change with WDW Dining.

You will have to cancel the ressie for 4 and try to pick up a ressie for 3. It makes no sense that they can't convert the table to 3 but that is how they do it. You may want to ask WDW Dine but I believe that it is only a $10 charge is someone doesn't show up so it may be worth it to pay the $10 rather than lose the ressie.

That's a tough one--because as the previous poster said, they won't just automatically change a party of 4 to a party of 3. IIRC, CRT does charge the full amount if you don't cancel within 24 hours. I know Akershus is just a $10 fee but you have to do it 48 hours prior. Good luck--hope it all works out!:goodvibes

I called WDW Dine and may have gotten lucky.

The Cast Member said that if I wanted to cancel the reservation I would have to do it 48 hours prior to the reservation time.

I told her I would prefer to change the # of people in the party from 4 to 3 if possible instead of cancelling it. She asked me if I was sure because they could always go down in #s but they can only go up if there is available seating. When I confirmed my desire to change from 4 to 3 she did it--well, at least she said she did it. We'll see what happens come Wednesday:)

Thank you for your responses. It's always interesting to find out when a current action is different from past experience.

That is great. I hope that it works out well but I would check my charges before I left to be certain that I was only charged for three. It would seem like common sense that since you have a table for 4 they could change that to 3 very easily. Let's hope that they are changing their policy to help people in these same situations. I do understand why they can't add on when for example you are going from 4 to 5. I did go back and check my Cindy ressie confirmation for my next trip and it said that ressies cancelled within 24 hours or no-shows will be charged the full amount. Good luck.
