FYI.........I just called to make an ADR for DINNER at CRT for January. The CM stated that only Breakfast and Lunch are served. She said that if dinner was served, "They would be shooting fireworks over your head...and that really wouldn't be good." WHAT???????????????????? I have never heard a CM say something so, let's say, silly. :rotfl2:

So, for all of those new to WDW and/or dining there, CRT DOES have dinner, however, not a character dinner. Please do not be discouraged if you encounter this same CM. Unfortunately for me, when I called back, there were no times available for my date.

The dinner meal at CRT does have characters. Cinderella meets you in the lobby and signs autographs and has pictures taken. During dinner the Fairy Godmother and the Mice do a little song and dance and then the mice come around and visit and do pictures and autographs. There are not as many characters as breakfast or lunch, but there is definitely character interaction.

Oh that is just TOOOO funny! No dinner at CRT :lmao: !

And although you are technically correct Princess Tiff, CRT at dinnertime really isn't considered a character meal. I guess because the castle mice and Fairy Godmother just flit around the room very quickly (hurry up with the camera!) ... and do not stop to greet families. (It's WDW that says it isn't a character meal but certainly enough characters for me!)

But meeting Cinderella in the lobby and getting a picture is fun! :thumbsup2

Yes, but it is not billed as a character dinner, unlike the others. When I called back to inquire again about dinner, the CM wanted me to "Understand that dinner is not a character meal." Perhaps that original CM thought I wanted a meal with the full royal court and concluded that dinner was not available??

Either way, you can eat at CRT for dinner, food is served in the evening, to the contrary of what a CM stated. She must have had a long day. If anything, she was good for a laugh.

Well, it's a meal and there are characters there that visited with us and had their pictures taken with my children. But, I guess Disney can classify it any way they want to.

If you get a CM like that, tell him/her to humor you and check anyway.

Well, I'm sure they say it's not a character meal because they've had people book it thinking it would be the princesses like breakfast and lunch, so they just dont call it a character meal. I could understand that. You'll have people calling and breakfast and lunch isnt available but DINNER IS!! So they book it, and are disappointed when they didnt get what they thought.

You have to remember that a lot of people may not understand.

I have received 2 private messages in regard to this thread, and neither person is one that posted a reply here. They were asking about character meals at CTR and which characters are at which meals.

PEOPLE ARE MISSING THE MAIN POINT OF MY ORIGINAL POST

The point I was trying to make is that CTR IS open in the evening despite a CM stating that it closed immediately after lunch. That's all. Please ask the CM at 407-WDW-DINE any questions about meals, times slots, characters, etc. Really, I have no inside info into character meals other than personal experiences. I was simply sharing a goof up of one CM that made me chuckle in hopes that she did not turn away another family and disappoint them unnecessarily.;)

It seems that there are quite a few CM's at CRO who have no idea what is actually available restaurant-wise. :headache: Unfortunately inaweofbnl, you are not the first poster to have this type of thing happen to them. :sad2:

I agree with abc999 - if you encounter such a response from a CM when calling WDW-DINE, just ask them to check anyway, you know "just in case". ;)

I didn't know CRT was a character meal!!!!!!!!!

Where have I been???!!! :rotfl:

We have a breakfast ADR in a couple of weeks - now I'm even more excited!!! Shall go and find out more now!

xxx

Absolutely! It pays to do your homework.;)

I went and ate dinner there during the fireworks show and it was GREAT!! You could see everything outside the window, it was sooo romantic and the couple next to us, the man even proposed to the girlfriend. And it was such a wonderful experience. That CM is crazy!:rotfl:

Strange!! I would consider it a character meal!! There were characters there who came around to every table and took pictures with you!!

That's probably why they sent you a PM, they wanted to keep the thread on tpoic but thought you might also have the info they were looking for. As far as people missing the main point, well, welcome to the DIS, lol. ;) :goodvibes :rotfl:

Anyway, that is too funny about the CM. I've gotten ones like that before, who don't have the correct info and its so annoying because you have to call back and wait in the hold line all over again. Ugh.
