Question...

We are traveling with another family and I made the CRT reservation for all of us - 6 total. Me and my kids are on the DxDP, but the other family is not on any dining plan. I would like to use credits to pay for 3 of the 6 meals, but was told use for all or use for none. Is this true?

THANKS!

You should be able to tell your server who is on the DP and who is not. We did this last year when travelling with our extended family. The confusion may come from the fact that everyone on a room reservation has to either have the dining plan or not.

No, you can't even pay for them with your dining credits if you wanted to.

Great DDP question!!! I have not heard this one before.
My guess is it's because of the pre=pay vs. cc hold only.
If you use credits, they take a cc # but don;t charge.
If you have no credits they make you pre-pay in full.
Maybe their computer won't let one ressie have the 2 different methods.

I would book it as 2 ressies then ask to be seated together. We had 4 of 7 meals as "2 tables" of 4 insteas of a party of 8...we sat together every time. Then I'd arrive a little early and talk to the hostess.

Leave it as one res and when you get to the restaurant tell them who is on the DDP and who is not. They will just have the other family pay for the meal beforehand. no problem.

This may be a CRT booking question, as CRT is the only restaurant other than the dinner shows that requires payment in full at booking.

If you already have the reservation, have you already paid for it? They may be able to credit back the money for those who will be using DDP. If you don't already have the reservation, you can try doing a cash reservation and then later crediting the DDP part. Be advised that you would have to pay for the entire party when you book the reservation.

Because I have not booked CRT in years, I can't really answer the question. I would call WDW Dining back and explain that you want to use DDP to pay for half the party and the other half wants to pay cash. See if someone else tells you you can do this.

I wondered something similar. We have 2 families and will be making one reservation for CRT. When I called WDW Dining a few days ago to ask about how payment could be set up for our reservation, she told me it was not a problem to have two different payments on one reservation. I did specifically ask her about cc/dining plan, as my family is not sure we will do the plan this time, but my friend's family will. It did not seem to be an odd request or question when I talked to the reservationist then and seemed to be do-able.
