Cinderella's Not So Royal Table

Thanks for the review. We used to love lunch in the Castle. No more. On our recent visit a couple of months ago, the princesses were very rushed, the meal was rushed, the food was below average -- and they tried to rush my handicapped parents about getting seated so they could start bringing out the food.

It has changed so much since we first started going to CRT for lunch 10 years or so ago. It's now like a ride -- line you up and run you through.

Just awful. We won't do it again.

Your girls are so cute! We are going to WDW tomorrow for my DD 6th birthday and I just can't wait to see the same looks as your girls on her sweet little face :goodvibes

Thanks for the review! Especially the videos... I've been debating CRT dinner for our upcoming trip... but, now I'm wondering... do the princesses only come around at breakfast and lunch? Maybe we should try to change to lunch instead... What other differences are there between lunch and dinner?

My daughter really enjoyed our lunch at CRT. She posed for some photos with every princesses. She really love cinderella and snow white...and oh, we were able to meet the fairy godmother, too!

Thanks for the review. Your daughters are just beautiful! princess:

We did the CRT breakfast in Sept. of '06, when DD was 3 and DS was 13 months. To say we were underwhelmed is an understatement. Our experience was similar to yours: long wait in complete mayhem (only ours was outside in 90 degree heat), quick pic with Cinderella downstairs, and a bored, uninterested waiter. Add in blah food, and 2 TS credits per person, and we have not been back. We much prefer Akershus.

Just an FYI: you don't get to meet the fairy God Mother, at least when we eat there. She only comes in and sings a song. It was short and sweet.

Not sure if you are talking about lunch or dinner but we did get to meet the fairy godmother at breakfast. This was in 2007 so maybe it has changed since then.

Hey I just noticed we were there the same time as you last year. We were at Pop 8/28-9/4 for free dining. This pic was taken on 9/2.

When we went to WDW in '06 I luckily was told to stay away from Cindy's table due to being overpriced for what you get both foodwise and character wise. We went to Askerhus (sic) and all of the princesses were there and the food was great and only one TS credit on the meal plan as opposed to the two for CRT. They have a cold bar available to you that you can go to as much as you want with meats, cheeses salads etc. along with your meal order. Also they serve great beer. While we were there all of the princesses came around us twice. It was great and my kids loved it.:thumbsup2

The picture earlier in this thread with the fairy godmother was kind of a fluke. Usually the princesses that make the rounds at breakfast and lunch are Aurora, Jasmine, Belle and Snow White. You know that line where they say characters are subject to change???? On odd occasion, one or more of them of them isn't available and the Fairy Godmother or Mary Poppins or Alice will fill in. Don't ever book at the castle assuming you will see the fairy godmother. But she's not hard to find. Most mornings she's out in Fantasyland for autographs and pictures on the back side of the castle. I saw her there each of the 3 mornings we were just there.

And yes, she hosts the dinner and does a short show, but does NOT stop for pictures and autographs. But it IS a great experience and worth doing if you have the right expectations.

I'm confused... you are saying that Cinderella isn't there for Cinderella's Royal Table? No Fairy Godmother or mice, either?

Cinderella is available for photographs on the lower level during breakfast and lunch, but will not circulate among the tables during the meal. Aurora, Jasmine, Snow White and Belle (blue dress) will mingle spending up to a minute per table (long enough for some chit chat, a signature, and a few photos).
While I am somewhat disappointed to hear that others did not enjoy their meals, we found that we had plenty. That the pork was moist, the couscous firm, and the dessert plentiful. But with all of these experiences, there are extremes at both ends.

We did a dinner back in May and my girls enjoyed it very much. We have a lunch comming up in February and hopefully they will have fun again.

There was no mass congestion downstairs waiting to be called for the table.

We got our pic done and then was called upstairs. The stairs were not an issue at all.

We all (4) chose the prime rib entree and it was very good.

The fingerling potatoes were very salty, but some of us asked for mashed and got them and they were good. Since I did not like any of the appretizers, I asked for a small dish of the tortellini instead and no problem getting that.

I asked about desserts having nuts and a chef assistant came out and reviewed the entire menu regarding possible food allergies. That was nice and impressive.

I had creme brullee for dessert and they put rasberries on top...If I knew they had fruit, I would have been happy with just that.

The waiter was really nice and made sure we always had enough and asked if we needed anything else.

Mice were our characters and the Fairy Godmother put on a little song and dance....

We were very glad we did it and the youngest at our table was 16.

We had had breakfast at 8 at the CP and this was at 525 so it was a great break. We stayed in the park till around midnight.

I would do it again.....We all would....as long as our budget allowed...

BTW- I also got 40$ off due to gettting a Disney VISA before the trip. I thought the credit was only on a Disney vacation package, but they did apply it to this dinner- so that was an added bonus!

CRT was the first thing we did at WDW and my children talked about it forever. It was the best food (the healthy option was great). my kids ate just about everything and it was all you could eat at breakfast. Everyone was great and we saw the princesses later and they remembered my children and was sooo sweet to them. Sorry to see you had a bad time

We did the lunch 2 yrs ago with my daughter & niece and were pleased. My daughter (4 at the time) still talked about it & insisted we do it again when go next month. We had a really good experience & hope we do again.

I ate at the castle as a signature dining, which took two table services from my Plus Dining Plan. I have to say how disappointed I was because I got soooo sick from some undercooked food served to me from the castle. The castle is nice inside and everyone was pleasant but I got so sick from the food that our group had to leave the park for the day. It wasn't so magical to say the least. I was feeling really great and having a wonderful day enjoying the park up until I ate undercooked food at the castle. I got stomach pains and didn't realize how sick I had become in a matter of minutes while I went on the Snow White Ride. I couldn't run to a bathroom quick enough. I'm just thankful my daughter didn't eat what I had eaten. It completely ruined our entire day and we had to leave the park - the whole group. I never said anything, but wish I would of looking back on the situation. I absolutely love DISNEY, it is my favorite place in the whole world and have always had exceptional experiences while on vacation. I always looked up at the castle from the time I was a child and had a big smile, now I look up at the castle and remember my dining experience!!!

Sorry you did not enjoy your meal at the Castle. Your girls are adorable.
That staircase is a challenge. I am constantly saying "stay to your right" to my kids for our entire trip.

We have been to CRT several times for breakfast & dinner & have always enjoyed it. The last time we went the CM's said "welcome back Princesses & Prince" & called my kids by name. Made my kids smile. We had a gentleman server the last time & he was wonderful. It was during breakfast & we had not seen Belle yet. While we waited he came over to refill our coffees & did not rush us a bit.

I'm taking a mother/daughter trip with my soon-to-be 16 year old. I was lucky enough to get a lunch ressie on her birthday, so I think she will be really surpised. She told me the other week, "I wish I could stand in front of the castle at the exact moment I turn 16!" (10:10 am). In a matter of 10 days, her wish will come true!!

I've heard varied comments about the meals in the castle, but I know I'll be enjoying myself, because how could I not? I'm in Disney World!!!!!!!

Is there an elevator to get up to the dining area, we are traveling with my parents in April and have a reservation for CRT but my Mom's knees won't handle all those stairs?
