Cinderella's Lunch

I have reservations for 9/29 for lunch at the Castle for 12:15. My dd10 looked at the menu and said she didn't want to eat there. I hate to cancel because of how hard it is to gett in. I'm hoping dd will like it when she sees the building. If not I will cancel on 8/24.

I know what you mean. I have lunch booked, too, at CRT and I am not fond of the lunch menu. However, I am not there for the food, but to eat in the castle! She could order off the kids menu which does have chicken strips, pretzel dogs and baked pasta. Even though you have to pay for her a san adult, you can still order off the kids menu. I may even do that myself.

Also, what about breakfast? It maybe sold out by now but there are always cancellations. I would have done breakfast but their latest seating is 10:20 and I wanted to make the most of our morning in the park.

I wouldn't cancel just yet- try to talk to her about the castle and how fun it would be to eat there.

My 5 year old daughter did not touch a stitch of her food, there is no kiddie menu there contrary to what they say. It was girlled chicken that looked rubbery on a plate with string beans! I'm sorry but I dont know any kids here that ate it. And its not like you can take a doggie bag. Now they do give you your portraits and a lithograph for the high price, but the photo was of my daughter and Cinderella and the lithograph is in this fat tube, try to take in on a plane. My husband thought the food was horrible, only the desert was nice, and Cinderella stays DOWNSTAIRS. (The mice and the fairy Godmother do a little show). Nor do the characters come from table to table like breakfast. Dinner is slightly different than breakfast or lunch, but I have been to all 3 and we will never waste the money agian, the kids wont appreicate it!

Hmmm, I found the food to be really quite good. I was there for dinner, had the steak and found all parts of the dinner to be good especially since most food in this park is poor.

Why can't you have a doggie bag? You paid for it, its your food. I ALWAYS take my food. Its a sin to waste food or so I have been told. My best friend always says that in case of nuclear war you want to be near my purse because that is where the food is.

Also what is wrong with taking a fat tube on a plane. I've done it many times. It goes in the overhead on top of the rollerbag.

Did you not know that the Princesses don't circulate during lunch and dinner? Sorry you had such a bad time. I would do it again though I do agree you are paying for the experience.

It is pricey but you are paying for the experience. We ate there April 2006 lunch and the princesses all come around to the tables. We saw cindy downstairs, and snow white, sleeping beauty, belle upstairs. Picture came out beautiful and it is so special to eat in the castle. BTW, lunch was excellent!!!

And I agree the food was BAD !!!! The childrens menu was very limited. My niece asked if they had mac n' cheese - was told they did and was brought pasta w/ a tomato based sauce - didn't eat a bite.

I will say however, we were there at lunch and all the princess came to our table.

If you dd doesn't want to go, I'd pass, there are alot better ways to spend your money.

We haven't eaten at CRT but I can heartily recommend Park Faire at GF (dinner). Cinderella and Prince Charming along with Suzy and Perla make a circuit through the room but the best part is the food! It is some of the best buffet food I've had. And there is a lot to choose from. Kid have their own (lowered) buffet (they can eat the "adult" food too) which my DD6 loves. All her favs.-Mac n'cheese, pizza (she declared it the best she ever had last time!), and I think plain noodles, carrots and broccoli, and more. And the desserts-simple delish!

The room is beautiful too! No view like the castle but if you want delicious food and to see Cinderella, I would do PF. It's just a short hop on the monorail from MK.

The food was horrible for little ones for dinner. I do not recommend it. As for adults, we are divivded on how we thought the food was. Once you stick those meals in a bag, and you do not have a car (we always take the buses to our hotel) there is no where to put it or store it. Doggie bags are good if you have a fridge and a car. (And it was so bad I wouldnt have taken it anyway..)And the tube, well, lets just say we came with three bags and left with six. It was horrible to carry that fat tube thing with two bags on your shoulder and carrying a little one. I was not aware that the Princesses do not circulate, as I also did breakfast there and each of them came to my table. What a huge disapointment for my daughter. Not even the mice came to say hi!

Now for those with little ones I am so excited that Jo Jo, Goliath, and the Little Einsteins are doing their own character breakfast, AND lunch as well! At MGM they will be I believe its called "Play & Dine at Hollywood & Vine" from now on and we already made reservations for our next trip. (I was so excited, I forgot where we needed to go!) For those of us that have done both the Castle and Park Faire at the Grand Floridian (100% better food AND recommended) then this is something new for the kiddies who might be sick of the princesses! Plus they are the big Characters who will come to each table. Thats whats so great about Disney, every time you go there is always something new to look forward to. PASS IT ON!

I have dinner scheduled here for dd's 13th birthday, because she really wants to eat in the castle. She and my older son will eat from the adult menu, because they are over 9. I have a younger ds, too. According to All-Ears, there are three choices for the child's dinner: chicken strips, mini hot dogs, and beef and macaroni with marinara sauce. Is that not the case? Are the chicken strips fried or grilled?

I'm getting a little nervous about this ADR. I most likely won't change, because that is where she wants to celebrate, and I already have the cake ordered to that meal.

Also, the lunch is a character meal with the princesses circulating to all the tables in the restaurant. Dinner has a little show with Fairy Godmother, Perla, and Suzy, but they do not visit all the tables. It depends which type of experience you would prefer.
