has anyone done the Cinderella's Castle wedding? i know it's a pretty penny, and i'm not planning on doing it(unless i win the millions! ha!) but i was just curious as to whether anyone has done it or has gone to one where someone has done it?

totally off-topic but...where did you get the info about 98% of the teenage population...

i haven't, but it seems like it's not accurate.

This is what I understand about the Magic Kingdom weddings. Disney waffles on cost and you do not get to pick your wedding date. There is also no way to have a reception there as there is no longer a catering service.

I've only seen pictures from the video....but i'm sure you can do anything for a price....lol...

There are some old photos here: http://yourfairytale.com/mk.html

Keep in mind that they no longer do receptions, because of the lack of catering.. so you wouldn't have tables set up.. Have your reception dinner somewhere else on property, then ceremony and dancing in MK.

FWIW, DFTW hasn't done an MK wedding for atleast a year or 2. MK weddings are now pretty restrictive and not what they were a few years ago. The choice of dates is very limited and will probably be between Tuesday and Thursday. They need atleast 2 hours after closing to clear the parks, which means that for most times of the year your guests can't start coming in until about 10pm. The ceremony begins at about 10:30pm, and you have to clear the park by 1am. They will set up wooden chairs out on the street and the ceremony is on the stage.

having a cinderella castle wedding would be an absolute dream come true. but having to wait all day long for a 10:30 PM wedding is too much.

thanks for the info and the pix. *sigh* if only i were rich! lol. that's kind of sad that they don't do receptions anymore, it looks like it would be pretty awesome to have it behind the castle. and yeah, 10:30 is so late for a wedding!

i've seen pictures........OLD pictures of someone getting married during the day in the rose garden.....does this happen or was that just probably a faux pix just to show the location?

I am actually having a MK wedding, and yeah the options SUCK!!!!!!!!!!! It's $25,000 just for the ceremony, the ONLY time option I had was that the ceremony starts at 8:00 in the morning, and has to be over by 8:30 so they can get the park ready to open by 9, and the reception is extra. What we planned on doing is a family style breakfast reception then our guests will have the afternoon off and then meet back up for dinner at the Aloha Lual and then have a dessert party at Fantasmic for the cake and stuff. It's costing us around $50,000 so yeah its EXPENSIVE!!! But I'm hoping it will be worth every penny (or at least it better be:scared: )

How fun! You'll have to start a planning journal so we can hear all the fabulous details! Sorry you're so restricted but the pics alone must make it worth it, eh?

I don't know if you've seen this or not but there is a bride who posts here that was married recently at the MK. She has a thread here, Sarah and Fred are their names, and they have a website as well.

If you have the link to that page, or if she could sent it herself would be awsome!!!! The weddings not till Feb '09 so anyhelp along the way would be awsome (yes I know someone is going to say 'well disney doesn't book weddings more than a yr in advance' we had special circumstances and with it being in the castle, was granted an extension) I will def post a journal when the planning 'officially' starts. If anyone has any ideas I'm alwasy game.

I wanted the Cinderella Castle wedding but when i saw the cost and the time frame I was like "Um, no." It has to start at 8 and be over by 8:30 which means that you are up at like 4 a.m. or earlier just to get ready. I don't go to bed until after midnight!!! There wouldn't be enough concealer in the world for that one! If it was still at night that would be a different story, maybe. It would still be too steep for our pockets. I would love to hear about anyone getting married there -- lucky!

It seems like Sarah edited her thread on July 25, 2007 - there is no link to her pictures. Did she remove it??? Or am I doing something wrong because I can't see any pictures and don't see a link. :confused3

WOW! That was one amazing night from the pictures!!!

Private dinner in Animal Kingdom, staying at the Grand, 12 people in the wedding party, Cinderella's coach carrying you down mainstreet, getting married in front of the castle...... oooh I think my new house probaby cost as much as that night did!!
