Ok..I have to admit I have been eying this thing for the past 3 trips..DD 4 had enough $ saved to buy it on this trip because it was 35% off.
I am slightly disappointed !! Esp since the regular price was 70+ $$!!!
We got home and opened it up and the 2 lighted torch looking deals didn't light up and Beast looks like he was coming apart at the seams. For it to be such a expensive toy you would think they would have done better at constructing it.
So I call the Disney number for shopping.I talked to someone who told me to fax a copy of the receipt and they would have a new Beast shipped out to me...I got the new one just now and he looks just as bad as the first one.It came all packaged in Disney bags, boxes and paper. It had to be hand packaged because it wasn't in a carded back shelf hanging thingy.
This just stinks because he looks like his head will pop off at anytime.

Just wondering if I am the only one with a crazy put together Beast.... LOL

I went and looked at Beast after seeing your post. Are you talking about beast's head looking a little like it is broken off from the back of his neck? If so, I guess he is meant to be that way because ours looks like that too. I have to admit, I was a little disappointed in the castle for the price when we took it out of of the box too. My daughter got it for her 3rd birthday a couple of weeks ago. I was so excited to give it to her. She plays with the little Disney people that came with it all the time, but I haven't seen her play with the castle itself once other than to flip the torch lights on and off and carry them around. Her Grandma got her a Fisher Price loving family dollhouse for her birthday and she just takes the Disney characters over and puts them in that house. Yep- I feel completely one upped by Grandma.

My DD has it too and while our Beast is okay, she rarely plays with the castle other than to flick the lights on or off. She does, however, love the characters and furniture.

Santa brought this to my DD9 6 years ago. Prettiest piece of junk ever (IMO). All the pieces broke in a very short time. They have them all, glued many times, in a bag and mostly it is a decoration mow in their room. DD7 still playes with the castle sometimes with her princess Polly Pockets, but that is about it. The castle has held up well though.

Yeah, our Beast looks like that too! One of our torches didn't work either. My DD does enjoy playing with the castles and the characters though! :goodvibes

Don't know if this is an option, but wondering if you could get some of the character figurines/playsets sold at Disney and use those in place of the characters it came with. They have all kinds of sets -Little Mermaid, Princesses, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, etc. Those all appear to be much sturdier plastic.

We bought Cindy's Castle for our DD3 for Christmas right after being in the parks. I hate to say it, her castle is in perfect condition, everything works (torches, the interior light, all the music) and the figurines seem to be fine. She loves playing with it.

If there are several broken pieces, send it back! We bought ours at Once Upon a Toy and then had it shipped back home to us. I would think they or any of the parks shops should honor a request for an exchange if there are several broken parts.

Good luck.

When I took my niece to WDW last year she wanted that castle in the worse way, but even if she saved all of her daily spending allowance she wouldn't have encough to buy it.

She was still talking about the castle when we got home, so I ordered it for her 5th birthday, three weeks later. SHE LOVED IT!! and we never had any problems with it (with the exceptions of the fights with her older sister over who was going to be what princess :)

They got a lot of use out of it until we got a Barbie House for christmas this year.

We bought our castle the trip before last and it has held up great! Our Beast looks fine by the way. LOL

I have to say, my girls play with it A LOT! It is one of my youngests favorite toys. They both got these Minnie polly pocket like playsets while we were there too, and it seems that she spends more time in the castle than the princesses.

I should include the disclaimer that Cinderella is my 3yo favorite princess so that could contribute to her love of this toy. It was expensive, but when looking at what toys in general cost now it wasn't that bad. I mean that stupid Barbie with the puppies that flip was what $40. (I didn't buy the barbie, SIL did, I thought it was a rip).

We also buy one for DD as a gift on her birthday. She really loved it and playing it all the time. :rotfl:

Have a nice day to all. :)

I am really curious what this toy looks like, does anyone have a picture??

If you type in "cinderella castle playset" on ebay you'll see it.

I'm sorry your Beast looks bad.

I also eyed this playset for many trips. On our last trip I told my daughters they could get one big thing but they had to wait until the end of our trip to decide. I pretty much knew it would be the castle, and it was. ;)

Ours came is perfect condition and is still in perfect condition. My girls love it and play with it a lot. Although, like someone mentioned above, they put their Disney Polly Pockets in it more than the figures that came with the set.

The only problem that we have had is with the Beast. His foot broke and I had to glue it back. I have had to glue it several times.

I agree that it's not really worth the 70 plus dollars, but I look at it like a collectors item. We can always put it on a shelf with all of our Disney items. :)

We love it at our house! Both DD and DS play with it. When friends come over, it's almost always one of the first toys that come out.

I had it shipped home from Florida and although the box was a bit beat up, the toy and all the little pieces were fine.

I am glad that it isn't just me.She does like it a lot and we got the new beast in the mail and he is just as bad as the first one that came with it.I am chalking it up to a bad batch or something.
I am going to get some of the other figures for her to use with it I think. But right now...even the Little People kids are living in the castle :)

Thanks for all of the input. :) I am disappointed and glad I didn't pay the 70+ $ for it ..
