On my last trip to DW, at certain times of the day, Cinderella's castle was closed. I had to walk around it, which was no fun because of the constant trips between Tomorrowland and the other parks. I know there are offices inside. Why is the castle closed briefly during certain times of the day? It never happened the first time I went. Are there any Disney employees who can shed some light on this? Is it true that an apartment was built inside for Disney himself to use? They could at least charge a nice rental fee for guests to stay!

When did you go? Could it have been during a remodeling phase? That is the only reason I can think of that they would close it off.

They close off the castle so that you cannot walk through when they are doing shows in front of the castle. It's probably closed off several times a day.

I agree. They close off the castle before the show starts. I know it can be a pain to have to walk around to get to fantasyland, but the show must go on.

they close off the walk through the castle during the cinderellabration show (from japan) during the happiest celebration on earth.

i hate when they close off the castle. i mean, one of the coolest things about going to Disney World is being able to "walk through Cinderella's Castle"

They also close it off, and an area behind it, about an hour before Wishes. I think they wet down the sidewalk too.
