Im pondering using Cinderellas carriage but cannot seem to justify spending 2700.00 to ride from the beach club to the yacht club gazebo. Thats all of
a 2 minute ride there and a 2 minute ride after the ceremony for 2700.00
We are doing the escape wedding because we wanted a lower cost wedding.
This would almost defeat the purpose.
It is currently reserved but I am pondering cancellation.

Thoughts?

Hi,

Looking at the cost and the time you would be in it then you can very easily say that it is not worth it. But it's not just money and the time you get. Is it something you really really want? Would you look back at your photos and forever wish you had the carriage for what will be (hopefully) and once in a lifetime experience?

We were looking at stretch Hummer for what will basically be 2 x 20 minutes and 1 x 15 minutes journey over about 4 hours and were trying to justify the cost. OK, admittedly it's not the same cost as the carriage but it is still an expense we were justifying.

What it came down for to us was a) did we really want it? b) would we ever do this again? c) would we look back and be really glad we spent the money on it and d) would we have been just as happy extending the limo?

If you can afford the expense of the carriage go for it, regardless of how long you will use it for, for the experience.

ps . We are now booking the Hummer :goodvibes

i think this is such a hard thing to think about. I really really want the carriage too, and I said to my Fiance that I dont have to have the carriage and it would help with the costs, but he just said, if you get married in Disney, you have to do it properly, and he wants me to have the carriage.

We havent got anything booked yet as the wedding is not until nov 2010 but it will be something we will have to seriously consider giving the price as we will be on a tight budget, as we are living in the UK and have other costs (flights ect).

the best advice another Disney bride gave me was to "close my eyes and imagine our wedding day and arriving at the ceremony - if it included the carriage then I should go for it if all possible"... You can always cancel it later if you change your mind :) . It is STUNNING if you do decide to use it!

just my 2cents...the carriage is not my thing...BUT we are having Mickey and Minnie at our Escape Wedding and just recently I've really realized that it's a lot of money! :rotfl:

But also, when I picture my wedding in my head, I see them there and I see them (and want them) in my pictures that I'll be looking at for the rest of my life...it's the only time we can do this, it's a once in a lifetime thing...

If you can afford it, don't think of it as how much time you'll be in the carriage...if it helps, have your photographer take LOADS of pics of you in it, around it, alone, with your groom etc...

We're doing the Model A and I've already told Randy that we want pics with it (especially because the beach pics are not "us")...

So, although your ride in the carriage may be short...your time spent with it really isn't...(if that makes any sense)....

Give it some good thought and you'll know what to do! :goodvibes

we couldnt afford cindys carriage sow e went for the landau coach and it was fantastic, still horses and very weddingy and we loved it

I am having Cindy's Carriage. I wasn't going to but my dad said if you are getting married in Disney you might as well go all the way. :rotfl: I feel like, yeah its a lot of money but is a once in a lifetime experience. You will never again be able to ride in a Cinderella Carriage. :thumbsup2

We wasn't going to have the carriage because of the cost but as the wedding got nearer I felt that I would really miss it if we didn't get it. When I was younger and thought of my wedding at Disney the carriage was always in my plans. So we booked it.

We have no regrets about this choice and we felt it added to the whole Disney experience. We have some great photos with the carriage in the background which I think sets the scene.

The thing that made us book it was because we didn't want to look back at our wedding and regret not having the carriage so we went for it.

Is it possible to change from the 6 ponies to just one horse (like the landau coach)? Or even 2 horses? I just don't see Cinderella's coach with ponies, it should be horses!!:thumbsup2

If not I'm going with the horse landau for that very reason.

Are they ponies? I thought the were 6 white horses?

How do you tell the difference between the two? I am not horse savvy. :rotfl:

That is interesting if they are ponies!

I thought they where mini horses but hay what do I know.

To me they make the carriage, everyone loved the horses.

Hi,

I don't work for Disney, but my DF is a horse trainer and I used to be. I don't think that they could do this. They would have to change the entire hitch setup (how the ponies are "attached" to the carriage). They would also need different harnesses. The hitch would really be a problem, though, unless it is removable and can be interchanged with one designed for horses, whichi I doubt, as the carriage appears to sit fairly low to the ground, probably too low to be pulled by full size horses.

There is no harm in asking though! If that is what you want, I hope I am wrong  :wizard:

HTH!
