Just wondering if Cinderellabration will be cancelled with Disney's new theme Million dreams? I havn't seen the show yet and my DD7 is looking forward to it. We will be there mid Oct. Anyone have any info?

There has been no "official" announcement yet. I have heard that they are keeping the show, but I have also heard that the show will leave with the end of the celebration. I have asked my friends in the show, and they don't even know what is happening. I have a feeling the show will be around for a bit more, especially with all the money put into it.

I hope it will still be there for you A-ME but if not, I'm sure the replacement show will be lovely too. Everything Disney is magical but wishing you luck and a little pixie dust to keep the show going thru the end of the year.

PS - I wouldn't mind seeing it again in November so maybe we will both get our wish! :sunny:

Cinderallabration was only scheduled to be there for the 50th anniv. celeb. Disney hasn't made any announcements about if they plan to keep it.

It would be nice if they went back to the surprise show. I think the kids liked that better.

I definitely wouldn't mind a new show. I don't like Cinderellabration at all, but then again, I'm not a little girl age 2-10.

It would be nice to see a show with broader appeal.

I am praying that they keep it a while longer, we are going in December and I really want to see it. I have 2 small DD's but to be honest I am the one who wants to see it. princess: :p It looks so magical.

I thought I read somewhere that it was leaving in September and that Cinderella's surprise party was coming back. I hope that info isn't true because I have seen that show so many times and really want something new.

But, I would believe that the show will change to go along with the New Dreams Theme.
I will be disappointed to not see the Cindy Show cause others have told me it is Must !!!
But, any show WDW does will be just as great.
I have 2 DD's ages 5 & 8, so we are totally into the Princess Thing! princess: princess:

The "Castle Shows" have always been the least-fully-produced shows on Disney property.
They were simply "characters wiggling to a soundtrack".
Fun to look at, but not nearly as substantial as:

Festival of the Lion King
Beauty and the Beast On Stage
Fantasmic!
IllumiNations
Hunchback of Notre Dame
All the parades
even Tarzan Rocks! (cough)

BUT...
Cinderellabration is the lowest ebb of a Castle Show I've seen at WDW.
No plot, no humor, no heart, no villains...

It is, by Disney's own admission, a pared-down ("watered-down"?) version of a MUCH BETTER show that is produced at Tokyo Disneyland.
They didn't even care enough to give WDW a complete show.
I can only guess that they tried to take a FULL QUALITY show from another park and "shrink it down" to fit the lower budget alloted for a "Castle Show".
But that didn't stop them from offering it up (with PLENTY of AD budget $$) as a "Special 50th Celebration Attraction".
Walt always said to "UNDER-promise, and OVER-deliver".
That's why Cinderellabration is such a BIG disappointment in the quality I expect from Disney.

So let's hope the talented performers (and other production folks) who have been struggling to make this "hollow shell" into a "show" are given something better to work with in a few months.

What I don't like about it is the staging (lights) in front of the castle. I hate how it looks when you want to take a nice picture of the castle.

I totally agree. I was so disappointed in this show.

I hope they go back to Cinderella's Surprise Celebration which our whole family enjoys... Cinderellabration just did not do a thing for my boys or dh, they had nothing good to say about it. Waaaaay too princess oriented!

I hope those of you who have princess lovers get to see it, but that it's gone by next March! ::yes::

I personally don't care what Disney does. I love Cinderellabration, and I also love Cinderella's Surprise Celebration. So either way (if that's the way Disney goes) I am happy.

Have you seen the castle stage in front of Tokeyo? It's huge! Even if WDW would allow a larger budget, there is no way our show could be as good as the Japanese version. We just don't have the space that they have.

I actually do like Cinderellabration except for one thing- that redicuolus "Miss America" speech given by Cinderella at the end. Otherwise, I love the music and the couples dance.

As for the OP, I've also heard both that it's staying and that it's going so I have no idea.

That's even WORSE.
WHY then did they attempt to "force" a small under-par version of the show onto the WDW castle stage in the first place... and then PROMOTE it with Millions in national ad budgets?

That is my point. Disney PROMOTED this diluted-version "show" at WDW as if it WERE the "grand presentation" that is its cousin in Tokyo.

Soarin' is not watered-down.
LMA Stunt Show is not watered-down.
WDW spent the bucks to actually build and PRESENT the full shows.

Heck, if Disney had not PROMOTED (hyped) Cinderellabration so MUCH... I would not even have bothered mentioning it... but as it stands, its the biggest "let-down" I've seen in recent times at WDW.

Similarly, at Disneyland, "Light Magic" (a parade, of sorts) proved to be so unpopular a number of years ago, that even after spending Millions on installing all the special staging gear it required in CA, they simply "pulled the show" (and all that high-dollar staging) after one unfortunate summer.

I am in no way saying that the cast and crew is below par.
I love WDW casts, some of the most talented and exciting performers anywhere.

But the SHOW is simply not up to the standards we've come to expect.

The dreaded "double-post" due the over-taxed DIS server. :badpc:

I agree with phorsenuf. The steel things are REALLY UGLY! The gold castle is, IMO, nice than the classic castle, but Cinderellabration just wasn't a great show for us.

I hope it doesn't stay. We saw it last year when it first started and both of my kids were bored (especially DS :rotfl: ). So we didn't bother to see it a second time in May.

I'm hoping they bring back Cinderella's Surprise Celebration. Both of the kids love that show. It had a wider variety of characters for both boys and girls and a more exciting plot.

I don't know. My DD6 loved it. I was kind of bored, but I spent the show in pain because DD6 rode on my shoulders, and is getting way to big for that. (And no, nobody was behind me, so don't report me to the shock thread.)

If you think of it as street theatre with a hyperthyroid case, it makes it a bit better. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
