Does anyone know if you can have this delivered to the Garden View Afternoon Tea????

yes, you can arrange to have it during your afternoon tea at GF!

Oh yeah! Thank you. We LOVE doing the tea and we normally get the combo that includes the tea, sandwiches and pastries.....but I think we could now just do tea and sandwiches and then get the slipper delivered for our sweet. How perfectly elegant that slipper will be for this meal!

Careful. There are two versions of the Slipper - one available only at CRT, and the other available at any Grand Floridian restaurant.

You need to order it at least 48 hours in advance, and you may not be able to get the "other" one, i.e. the one not normally served at your restaurant of choice.

ETA: It's not covered by any Dining Plan credit - you need to pay for it.

Ok, can you describe the two versions? The ones I've seen pictures of all look basically the same.....a white chocolate slipper, 3D, looks about the size of a regular shoe, lol....and it has dollops of some kind of mousse or something in it....I've seen white mousse and I've seen chocolate.

THe variations I've seen have had more to do with presentation than really the dessert....I've seen it with berries and chocolate swirls on the plate....I've seen a cardboard/paper Cinderella on one, and sometimes I've seen a clump of something, maybe more berries in a little chocolatey looking basket.

If I remember correctly, the Slipper at CRT is filled with chocolate mousse. I am not 100% sure on the one from GF because we didn't have that one.

HTH!

I can confirm that the Slipper we had at CRT was filled with chocolate mousse! Of course, this was in 2005.... I "might" be able to confirm later this year. Maybe.:goodvibes

Just out of curiosity, how much does this cost? I've seen a couple pictures of it on here and think it's really cute!!!

This is a pic of the slipper dessert we had at our breakfast at CRT from our recent vacation last Friday :) It was beautiful. The slipper was chocolate heaven. My kids loved it! It was very rich, but very good. Between me and the kids, we ate it all, LOL :) Good sugar rush to begin our day @ the MK after a nice big breakfast :) Have fun and enjoy your tea and your slipper. The cake that it sits on, the shortbread or whatever it was isn't really very tasty but that was ok because the berries around it and the slipper make up for that. The cake like thing on the bottom was just kind of a presentation thing.

It was like 14.00 and with tax, I believe it came to like 16.00 something. Don't quote me on that but I think that is how much it cost.

Breakfast? You had it with breakfast?? What a GREAT idea - best of both worlds! The legendary CRT breakfast, complete with Princesses, and the Slipper! Oh, wow. I have to check my reservations and see if I have that reserved!
