Cinderella Royal Table on Dining Plan

I know that I will pre pay for Cinderellas Royal Table when I make my reservation even if I am on the Dining plan and will be reimbursed when I actually eat at the restaurant. But do they reimburse back to the method of payment? If I prepay with gift card the funds will be returned to the gift card? Trying to figure out if i want to tie up credit card funds with a reservation for 4 adults and 4 kids or get a gift card to cover the charges.

Wonder if the charges will go back on the gift card quickly?

One more question - I will make and prepay for 8 but the dining plan will be split between 2 rooms Should I make 1 reservation for all 8 but do 2 prepayments (4 for each room) so that after we dine the dining plan will be chsrged correctly and the money refunded to the method of payment.

If you have the dining plan, the system should only be taking a CC guarantee as opposed to taking full payment.
