Is it handicap accesible to get upstairs to the restaurant?
If we are lucky enough to get breakfast at Cindy's, my Grandmother has a wheelchair, I never thought to ask if they have an elevator.
thanks:)

You won't have too much of a problem. They do have an elevator that will take you directly to the dining area. The ONLY thing is that there are a couple of steps they might have to "hop" her down to get to the lower lever of the dining area. On the other hand maybe they would just put you on the upper level and avoid the steps all together. We watched them bump down the steps with a lady in January, you you might want to ask just to stay on the upper part. It's only like 2 maybe 3 steps. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the heads up!! I guess I shouldnt be picky when I call to make the PS, but if I have a choice I will request to stay on the upper level to avoid the steps. Thanks so much for the great info!

micknpluto -

When you ride the elevator in the castle, take note of the numbers. If my memory is correct, you enter on floor 2 and got to floor 3! I wonder where floor 1 is located???

When I was on the Backstage Magic Tour sometime ago, I had a chance to see where the elevator goes to! Pretty neat - and one of those Disney touches you may not notice.

Enjoy!

:p

When you make the PS, have them note that you will have someone in a wheelchair in your party, I am sure they will accomidate you. Plus as with "highchairs" there are restrictions (due to fire codes) on where you can be seated. IE not in a walk way or blocking an exit etc.

Have a great time.

I'm going to move this over to the Disabilities Board for you, Chris. They know all about the accessibility at WDW.

WDW2002 is absolutley right. When you make your reservation, just tell them that one of your party is in a wheelchair. There is a fairly small elevator that goes up to the dining level. The only wheelchair accessible restroom is on the lower level where you will be waiting for your name to be called.
The biggest dining area is at the same level as where the elevator lets you off. The restaurant is sort of on a few levels a few steps apart so everyone has a good view of the windows. You won't have a problem getting a table on the main level. If she can get out of the wheelchair and step down a few steps, you could sit anywhere.

I have'nt been on the boards in a while, and In logging on today, I noticed more replies to this post. I REALLY want to thank you for all of your help. You guys are so nice, I feel a sense of guilt come over me when I dont visit in a long time.:) Im so excited about this trip, I cannot wait until August 28th, thats when I can start to call and TRY to get Cindy's breakfast! Wish me luck! This will be our first time eating inside of Cinderella Castle!

Thanks again!!

Chris

I hope you have good luck getting the PS that you want, and that you have a great trip. If you have any more questions, let 'em fly! :)
