Cincinnati-ites! -- The Beach? or Boomerang Bay?

Planning a trip to Kings Island. The kids want to do a waterpark. Anyone have any thoughts on The Beach and Boomerang Bay that is in King's Island?
Cost is about the same for both. I read a few posts on Trip Advisor that said The Beach is run down, but then I read some really good reviews of it too. Couldn't find much on Boomerang Bay. My nieces are 12 and 10 and aren't interested in the really big slides. Which park do you think is better?

If you are already doing a trip to Kings Island, wouldn't it be cheaper to get the 2nd day at a discount and do Boomerang Bay?

I know this doesn't help, but I have a 9 and 13 year old and they like both.

The price for Boomerang Bay should be included in the price ticket for Kings Island if you are planning on going there anyways. That being said, I use to work for Kings Island and have gone to the park and water park a lot and I'd have to say I like the Beach water park better. Boomerang bay has a lot of bigger slides that are body slides whereas the Beach I believe has more slides that are tube oriented and not as big, but equally as fun. I hope that at least helps you some!

I found a Cincinatti travel site that has one day tickets to King's Island for $22, the 2 day pass for KI is I think $47, so getting 2 one day tickets would be a little cheaper. I was trying to decide if I should order 2 tickets for KI, one day in the park and one day at Boomerang Bay. The Beach tickets I think were the same price at that site $22 or $23 so about the same. From the websites, I think the kids would prefer The Beach, but I was a little worried about the Trip Advisor reviews, one said it was run down and another said it wasn't all that clean. I know to take reviews with a grain of salt though, that's why I thought I'd ask here.

My kids like boomerang bay better, they go alot since the have season passes. The beach charges for their tubes for their lazy river.

I'm so sorry to be the negative Nancy, but neither of them are great. I've lived here most of my life and we are season passholders to KI. Boomerang Bay is...well...nasty. The water never feels clean to me, and it always smells like pee. I have not been to The Beach in a couple of years, but I remember enjoying it more than KI's waterpark. KI tends to get really busy and they do not handle crowds very well, so if you are planning to go there, get there early and plan on waiting in lots of long lines. If you are going on a weekend, forget it. I think The Beach is less busy...they just don't draw the crowds that KI draws.

I wish I had an alternate suggestion for you! Hope you have fun, whatever you choose!

Ah! What about Coney Island? Have you given it any thought? They have an awesome (HUGE) pool! Not many slides, a few, but they also have rides that are classic family friendly rides - tilt a whirl, ferris wheel, scrambler, etc. It's a smaller, more intimate park. And, if you go on the right day, you might catch an awesome concert at Riverbend! You should definitely check it out.

I love that pool, I haven't been there in forever but it was awesome!
