Just wondering who else is doing this race? I live in Cincinnati and for the first time I'm signed up to do the half. Hubby has done all but one and we have several friends who have done all of the Flying Pig full marathons.

I will definitely be doing it but not this year. I plan on doing all the big Ohio halves and the Flying Pig and Air Force are the only two "big" ones I have left. I did Cleveland, Akron, and Columbus already.

I'd love to do the 1/2 someday. I have a brother in law in Cincinnati so I think it could be a cheap trip. Good luck!!

I'll be there with dh! skfulkers and aladdinsgirl will be there too!

I wanted to do the full again this year--I wasn't happy with how it went last year...but it is the Sunday after I get back from my 4 day walk to Columbus. I figured 5 days was not enough time to recover and get ready for the marathon...so, I will have to look forward to next year.

I'll be there also with some friends to do the pig. (we liked the "bling")

I'll be there doing the half, and DH will be in the full. I'm starting to freak out about the hills...

I am trying to take comfort from one line of the course description that's on the Pig's website. The writer says that if you're really spent, there comes a time toward the end where you can pretty much curl up into a ball and "roll it on in." I just might try it!

I'm going to try to stop obsessing. It's a l-o-n-g way up, but from what I hear the whole course is lined with cheering fans and musical acts. I'm counting on that to just lift me up to Eden Park like I have wings!

Well as a Cincinnati native, I can tell you that yes the hills can be daunting. The good thing, however is that the largest hills are in the beginning of the course so it shouldn't be too bad.

Love that!

Thansk stampinggoddess! Good to know!!

To paraphrase Charlotte, "That was SOME PIG!" We started with lightening, thunder and steady rain. What a day! How did it go for you, fellow swine?

I had a good day in the half, didn't mind the rain, and felt strong. I'm very slow, but met my goal. The hill was long, but not as steep as I feared. And coming down it, I felt like Superman!

DH had a harder day. Maybe he got dehydrated, which seems crazy on such a wet day, but he felt awfully sick from mile 18. He'd had really good long runs in training, so he's not sure quite what happened.

The worst part was the drive home. Boy oh boy, did I miss that nice Disney bus to deliver me to the comfort of Saratoga Springs! I got chilled after my half waiting for DH in the full, and I shook with chills all the way home. Crazy!

I hope all of you had a good experience who ran it!
